After the massively improved episode four I had hoped that the series was back on form, but having just watched this I fear that upward spiral was just temporary, I'm very much a fan of heavy dramas, I love complex plots and twists, but I'll admit I had no idea what was going on here, the story jumped about all over the place, it seemed to make absolutely no sense, with characters acting and behaving in strange ways seemingly with no motives. It all felt a little amateur somehow, even the performances were a little off key, I found even Siobhan Finneran who I've praised throughout, was a little off form. I'm glad we're over the halfway line, this is becoming a little poor.
