Storyline

Blake is taken off the case after assaulting Craig, who is also targeted by a gunman, possibly student Dessie Toner, his suspected blackmailer. After Mair's house is raided Evie uncovers his relationship with Bethan McGrellish and the secret they are sharing whilst Lauren believes the suspect seen on CCTV is actually not the killer but their first victim. Annie finds weapons possibly used by the murderer at the same time that Craig is taking his students on a tour of a hydroelectric dam. She joins Lauren as they pursue their suspect along its darkened corridors, finding other bodies on the way. Alan, returning to work, finds another corpse in the loch. Toner is the chief suspect as the killer but the dismissed Blake tells Lauren he believes he was not acting alone. Written by don @ minifie-1

A woeful episode.
9 July 2017 | by (Swansea, United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

After the massively improved episode four I had hoped that the series was back on form, but having just watched this I fear that upward spiral was just temporary, I'm very much a fan of heavy dramas, I love complex plots and twists, but I'll admit I had no idea what was going on here, the story jumped about all over the place, it seemed to make absolutely no sense, with characters acting and behaving in strange ways seemingly with no motives. It all felt a little amateur somehow, even the performances were a little off key, I found even Siobhan Finneran who I've praised throughout, was a little off form. I'm glad we're over the halfway line, this is becoming a little poor.
