Not quite as good...
Unknownian4 September 2017
This episode of my new favorite series, isn't directed as well as some of the previous episodes. It lacks the timing, pacing, and lighthearted feeling of all of the previous episodes.

It also got way to serious for the comedy that it is. The director chucked the essence of the show, in order to...??? Even one of my favorite characters "Amara" wasn't herself.

Like any movie, or series episode, a change in director can make or it or break it. This time it was broken. I hope the series returns to its real potential again next week.

Warning: Spoilers
It wasn't a bad episode, we honestly have not had a bad Get Shorty episode yet, but this didn't have the same spark as the previous ones. Outside of the script doctor getting threatened, we didn't get many noteworthy scenes at all.

10 episodes might be too long a season for a show like this.

A Man of Letters

Louis Darnell learns the true essence of show business.

You get things done if you threaten people. Get a good agent and you could be owed a lot of money for that script you did not write.

Miles also gets things done by threats and intimidation. He is just not at the level of Louis and is shocked to find out what Louis has been up to.

This is Hollywood, people are shallow and Rick uses his son in rehab to get to a top actor that the director wants.

The episode did not add much apart from Amara using her nephew to take out a rival.

Maybe the next episode will pick up. Amara goes to Hollywood.
