Not worthy of the title "cinema experience"
ajaxsocial22 May 2017
I've used IMDb for over a decade, and I've never felt the need to register, leave a comment, review or contribute in any form. Until now.

I took my three year old to go and see Peppa Pig: My First Cinema Experience, and while she mildly enjoyed it, I really, really didn't.

The idea of paying nearly £17 for an adult and child to sit through a few Peppa Pig episodes, interspersed with absolutely awful, lazy live action skits should turn your stomach. The puppets for Peppa and George are lacklustre, and while the presenter tries, her baby voice grates within minutes. There's very little appeal to these live action segments, and beyond asking the audience members to "join in" there's really no form of "interaction" nor games to speak of (despite what promotional material will lead you to believe)

I would honestly wait until these episodes come out on a DVD, as while they're good - sitting through the awful live action segments to get to them just isn't worth it.

Waste of money...

Warning: Spoilers
I went to see this about a day after it went cinemas and it was OK then. In all honesty, Daisy and the puppet sections were not bad, but not good either. This "cinema experience" consists of 9 then-new episodes of Peppa, 4 sharing the same theme - Peppa visiting her friend Kylie Kangaroo in Australia and fillers with a presenter named Daisy with Peppa and George as 3D puppets doing things. The only one I can remember is George playing Hide and Seek with Mr Dinosaur and Daisy and Peppa finding out George was holding it all the time because George doesn't want to part with it or something. It was mediocre. But to be honest no-one would be bothered to pay for 3 months of early access to PEPPA PIG.

The "filler" chat between episodes just doesn't work
chrismccarthy17 April 2017
As young kids cartoons go I don't mind Peppa Pig and often find it mildly amusing. I was happy enough to take my kids thinking the rating floor would be about a 5/10 and if the new material is good it could be even better. I was immediately disappointed upon seeing the really lame chit chat between a grown up putting on a child's voice and a puppet/doll of Peppa and George. It came across as filler in an attempt to pad out the time and make a series of short cartoons into a cinema experience. This was so boring I fell asleep a couple of times, paying attention only for the cartoons.

In the end I regretted going and put it down as a couple of hours of my life wasted!

What a con!
Phildevans12 May 2017
Similarly to the previous reviewer, I felt the "filler" segments between Peppa stories simply didn't work. I took my two year old daughter to see this, expecting 72 minutes of Peppa cartoons. What we got, was 6 (or so) Peppa episodes between 42 minutes of a presenter and puppets. I don't want to see a presenter and puppets! Very poor! Avoid.

Not even a 'cinema experience'.
thomasweston-2827023 February 2021
It's hard to even call this a 'film', when it's not even a film. Just a bunch of filler episodes and presenter shots. Plus this 'cinema experience' is just like pulling up a playlist of peppa pig episodes from series 1!

Nope. Would not reccomend.

Embarrassing attempt at a film
hanat2820 March 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This is essentially a few new Peppa episodes shown in a row that are not connected and have no running theme, as you might expect. I can only assume this was to try to keep young kids attention rather than producing a full length film or longer episodes with interesting content.

The truly awful filler scenes between each episode with "Daisy" and budget Peppa and George puppets are completely lacklustre and cringe-worthy. Again there is no running theme, nothing new to add or things to learn, no jokes for the kids or adults (Daddy Pig banter even). My child was bored and started doing something else. Thank god we didn't go to the cinema and see it!

How is this a film?

This is just a bunch of episodes joined together. All of which are on netflix also. I'd give it 0/10 if I could

Good for children
placid_explosives29 February 2020
The adults who have left negative comments amuse me. You didn't like Daisy's voice? You didn't like the puppets? It's not aimed at you, turkeys. My 3 year old (boy) loves this DVD. He has watched it a zillion times and I even find myself singing along with the songs. If you see it for sale and your little ones like Peppa pig, buy it this DVD. It's actually pretty good. The negativity from some reviewers is very amusing.

My 2 year old loved it!

First things first, let's consider the target audience for this cinema experience, CHILDREN! So for all the negative reviewers complaining about this film just remember it's aimed at CHILDREN.

This film did exactly what it was meant to do, it gave my daughter her first cinema experience, a massive screen, popcorn, pick n mix and everything else you get at the cinema.

I would highly recommend it for all families who have children who like Peppa Pig, my daughter didn't want to stand up until the last 5mins and then it was just to dance!

My 2 year old loves it - particularly the filler bits!
mark-searle454030 August 2020
My daughter loves the bits in between the cartoons and engages with Daisy and Peppa and George, and sings the songs even when it's not on! Great film!

One for the children.
carlaluxford-1490127 December 2018
The filler segments are quite cringe with Daisy's baby voice but I understand why they've done it. My daughter loves this film and the short stories and short fillers keep her attention much longer than an hour of just Peppa Pig would have. It's not like some other kids films where the adults are also catered for...this is definitely just for the children.

Bear with it....

Warning: Spoilers
First time I saw this I thought it was awful, cringeworthy by all accounts. However, my son has seen this now about 25 times and he loves the bits in between. He especially loves the monkey music. "Daisy" engages the kids into feeling part of the 'film' and I bet most kids love it :)

My children love it!
gemmathompson-573097 March 2020
Since this has been on Netflix my children want to watch it about 5 times a day! They call this "the real Peppa Pig" and prefer to watch Daisy and the puppet Peppa and George to the cartoon.

I hope they make another one!
