Shocking and Revealing
tomazoguardian4 August 2019
The beginning is pretty slow and you don t really know what to expect. But it slowly creeps in and you feel the desperation of the main character. The whole movie you have the feeling of being part of this terrible life. Afterwards you will feel drained but also opened up.

Emotionally brilliant

I was really surprised what kind of an effect a movie can have that is solely focused on a character talking. Although it is not visually stunning the emotional effect is overwhelming. Somehow this director shows a lot of potential. Very unique still and a high level of knowledge of the human soul.

Brilliant movie about Loneliness
stefan-bichler19 August 2019
This movie shows the isolation in everyone. Everyone in this movie is in some kind of way isolated. And camera catches this with ice-cold precision. It shows all the consequences that loneliness can have and how the main character tries to escape it. And all the tries are meant to fail because they come from the wrong place. This vicious circle is amazingly presented. Especially intriguing is the interaction with the camera. The camera in a way becomes a character aswell. A character that could get Marvin out of his isolation. Brilliant stuff.

Almost as if it was made as illustrative material for professionals.

I can definitely see that this movie might bore a lot of people. It's tough, it's slow, it sometimes lacks build-up. But as someone with a PHD in Clinical Psychology I can say that I have seldom seen are better portrait of isolation and loneliness in a short movie. The nuances in the struggle of the male character. The details in his ever growing delusional thinking. His strange way of speaking. It feels so real and reminds me so much of real patients I see in my practical training. Almost like a compilation of sad cases. I know it's a mockumentary and it's played by professional actors. But I really wonder if it isn't based on real characters.

Just another Incel Movie

So it continues!!! Man whining about the fact that young women don't fulfill their duty to society and sleep with every depressed white man. So entitled! So accusing! I just wanted to scream ''Stop'' every single second. The portrait of women in this movie. Exactly what we would expect. All manipulating borderliners. Man's glance at its worst.
