In many, though certainly not all, of the episodes of "Secrets of the Dead" you see the dead...mostly skeletons. But many other episodes just are concerned about archaeology. So if you wanna see skeletons and the like, this is not an episode to watch...though it is a really neat one about a city I'd never heard of before this. The ancient city of Baiea, sort of the Vegas of the Roman world, is featured here. It seems that although this was a city of the elite and the emperors went here for fun, games and relaxation, much of the city has sunk into the Bay of Naples due to volcanic activity. It's really interesting to see, as it's really not that deep and you could easily scuba dive some of the villas. The show is like a tour of the city--with looks at the submerged, non-submerged and excavated artifacts of the great city. All in all, a very good episode...one that really makes you want to visit this amazing city! Well made and never dull!
