Nice twist on a zombie short
bob the moo30 July 2017
It can feel like zombies are a heavy saturation in short films, with so many people out there knocking them out for Vimeo, or on a lower level for YouTube uploads; as a result it is hard to find some that are fresh within the genre. We Together is one of those. It doesn't have an amazing plot – indeed it is mostly a music/dance video, but yet it is clever, has gore, heart, tension, and darkness.

The concept is that one zombie finds memories triggered when a stereo starts to play in the parking lot outside the pizzeria he used to work at. He starts to dance, which trigger more memories, even as his former colleagues plan how they will escape from the inside. The intercutting of the zombies and the memories is well done, and I liked the gore occurring in the background as this happened. The ending is particularly satisfying as it offers hope within this zombie world, only to have it instantly snatched away – very "Night of the Living Dead".

seductive. at whole

A zombie short film. So different and charming and strange and well crafted. A radio. Zombies in a backyard. Music. And the return to the past. A sort of fine choreography and Marcel Proust madlene. The result is fascinating. And great. B>ecause it propose not only a new, smart perspective about a genre but a seductive story. First - for the lovely simplicita. The second - for the great return to humanity.
