The fifth episode of the season and the penultimate installment of the year turned out to be probably the worst. Outside of Swan stealing Lavender's sale, there wasn't much to laugh at here. There was plenty to sigh at as the show starting hit on all of the sitcom clichés (someone getting high, a friend kissing the other's wife) while not really providing the entertainment value previous episodes had.

Smell the Weakness

There seems to be a lack of comedy here and what there was seemed to be provided by Lavender who is supposed to be the straight man. After Vincent stiffs him on a deal Lavender goes back to his musical roots by joining a right on lefty band about to tour in support of the striking miners.
Vincent is on a slide. He owes 50k to the taxman, not selling double glazing and kicked out of the marital home. He is living in a flat that was previously used by a dominatrix. When Fitzpatrick calls round flogging diet pills which are really speed, Vincent ends up being hooked on the pills.
Seeing Vincent on his uppers was no fun, seeing Lavender getting close to Vincent's wife was intriguing.
