Back on form for an entertaining episode
leehillier234 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Seeing Ivar actually fight was cool, I'm glad he's been given a proper role in the show. Gisela's return was rubbish in comparison to her in the last season. Halfdan is just annoying. Finally seeing Ecbert again was beautiful and I'm looking forward to some scenes with him and Ragnar together! Judith was beautiful as always, although I hope she gets more screen time and development, especially after how she ended in the last season. Ragnar is the most likeable he's ever been, his moments with Ivar really make him shine. His character is far more likeable as an old man down on his luck. Rollo feels very shoe-horned in, I was happy with where his story finished in the last season and hoped that he would stay gone. Gisela smashing the pot feels unnecessary, which ruined what could have been a powerful scene. Lagertha taking back Kattegat was brilliant, and the building of tension between her and Auslag was beautiful. It was nice to see her plan coming to fruition.

Back on form for an actually entertaining episode; however, it feels like this should either have been episode 1 or 5, not 3 as it sets a standard for the rest of the season.

Rollo rolls the dice
tenshi_ippikiookami22 December 2016
Ah, but the French and their great hero Rollo are back. What is he going to do now that Bjorn and the rest of the Vikings have come to the coasts of his territories? Wage war? Let them go through and give them safe passage?

Rollo is back, and with him, we get an action packed, amazingly atmospheric, with good plot and character's development, episode. "Two Journeys" keeps everything going, and gives the viewer lots to enjoy and think about. Do you want action? You get action. Do you want dialogue? You get that too. Dreams and surprises? That too.

It is not only Bjorn's and the rest clashing with Rollo. It is also about Lagertha's desires and about Ragnar and Ivar's relationship. All characters get things to do, and purposes that make sense, even if Ragnar and Ivar's storyline seems to be there in part because Ragnar is who he is. It is not as interesting as previous of his adventures, and Ivar's character is actually the thing that is giving it some life.

"Two Journeys" has a little bit for everyone: dialogue, action, cunning and treachery. And much more to come.

In Wessex and In Paris
claudio_carvalho14 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Ragnar, Ivar and a few Northmen survive the storm and reach the beach. The survivors blame Ragnar for the incident in the sea. Meanwhile Bjorn decides to ask permission to Rollo to sail along the French coast but he is imprisoned chained in a cell with the Viking leadership. Ragnar decides to kill all the survivors to head alone with Ivar to Wessex. Lagherta decides to attack Kattegt and overthrown Queen Auslag.

"Two Journeys" is a good episode with deceptive moments. Why Bjorn did not drown the traitor Rollo? Why Ragnar has to kill the Northmen to head with Ivar to see King Ecbert? What will Lagherta do with Queen Auslag? My vote is eight.

Vikings are back on the good track
eirikag199415 December 2016
20 episode per season is the reason why this show have had some lame and slow episodes. I feared they did a grave mistake, but this episode might be a good sign on the way back. A lot of things finally happened. Twisted plots, important events, much drama, etc.. good episode! Hope they are going to make more episodes like this one in the future.

What is going to come will be interesting too see. But if they can keep this up, its going to be good.

If you ask me, they should by all means just try to put focus on making things happened, and not be afraid of making things go to fast. Its better that things in the sense of happenings, happen to fast, rather than too slow.

A 5th grader could've written this episode better smh

Warning: Spoilers
All that Rollo drama, and he's allowed to just jump onboard for another romp smh? That the dumbest and laziest writing I've ever seen. All that drama about his loyalty and wanting to kill his brother and destroy the vikings, then all of a sudden "hey wifey, I wanna go out with the boys and have some fun like the good old days" lmao? So just like that - except for the bottom boat cleanse, everything is back to normal lol? Dumb. A 5th grader could've written this episode better smh.
