This is not like producer-director Michael Moore's other, award-winning documentaries. While the opening is cinematic, the bulk of this material could best be described as Mr. Moore performing "stand-up comedy" for a movie theater audience. He sits down, too, on a sparse stage set. His language is frequently vulgar. There are a few interludes that include video, tape and photographs of 2016's US Presidential candidates Donald J. Trump and Hillary Rodham Clinton. Moore appears to have done this film quickly, with his "TrumpLand" being Wilmington, Ohio. His initial aim is obvious; of course, Moore is working to defeat Mr. Trump. Anyone who thinks "Michael Moore in TrumpLand" is going to support Trump doesn't know Moore. He is not going to give you a "fair and balanced" view of Clinton and Trump. Moore is an admittedly liberal (or progressive) filmmaker and presents himself honestly...

What may be surprising is Moore's persuasive argument for Ms. Clinton. This is a film about her, not him. Moore's conversion includes his sometimes mixed feelings about Clinton and her long biography. Interestingly, he enlarges old photographs of Hillary Rodham as set backdrops. After all the demonic contemporary photos and older "hippie" pictures on social media, it startling to see Hillary was quite a beautiful young woman...

The main point of "Michael Moore in TrumpLand" is to garner votes for Hillary Clinton and against Donald Trump. No surprise, there. Moore treats his audience with calculated respect. As aforementioned, he is honest about his personal views and how they developed. He hopes Clinton will be more liberal in office than most assume, as was the case with the present Pope Francis. However she governs, Moore prefers Clinton to Trump...

Moore directly appeals to older white males who have suffered economically and must now live in a county where they are a dwindling minority. The voters who believe President Obama is a Muslim born in Africa, and Hillary Clinton is the Anti-Christ, are not going to be convinced. Moore amusingly siphons those voters off and goes for the voter he believes might vote for Clinton, after a persuasive argument. He separates the bigots with visual allegories by "building a wall" around Mexicans (Guatemalans count, too!) in the audience and separating Muslins into a section guarded by a symbolic drone. Moore appears to have researched his target voter very well and the film shows heads nodding in agreement. Those nods mean the staged and directed voters on screen were convinced. We will have to see if real voters agree on November 8, when the new President wins election. Everyone should get out and vote.

Could Hillary be our Pope Francis?

Michael Moore is one of those documentarians that I've been aware of for a long time, yet never took the time to watch anything he's done. Until now, that is. The premise is pretty simple: Michael Moore went into a solidly Republican/conservative part of Ohio (ironically, in Clinton County) and made a pitch for Hillary Clinton. You will not find any Trump-bashing here (at least no vitriol), and what little of him does feature served a purpose. Things started off kind of shaky with Moore doing an occasionally awkward stand-up routine, but once he got the audience's attention/respect and delved into his case for a Hillary Clinton presidency, things smoothed out quite well, and even got quite emotional at times. The only parts that had me rolling my eyes were some of the early jokes and a concluding stunt (I'm guessing/hoping that it was) where he promises to run in 2020 if Hillary doesn't live up to the promise he sees in her. It had the feeling of those hackneyed high school debate speeches where the candidate promises junk food for lunch (or something similarly ridiculous). Even still, he made his point very well (and positively). The technical details of the film weren't necessarily the best, though, probably due to the film's quick production. There are many noticeable points where the audio changes in quality, and some of the editing seemed just a little off. Other than that, I thought that MICHAEL MOORE IN TRUMPLAND was an effective film that made its case without resorting to negativity, and with a minimum of theatrics.

It is hard to believe that once upon a time, the Presidency belonged to the Republicans. Apart from the isolated one term victory by Jimmy Carter, the Democrats were regarded as a basket case when selecting Presidential candidates and had to make do with victories for the Congress. Bill Clinton broke this mould and showed that a centrist Democratic party could dominate Presidential elections, heck even Al Gore won the popular vote in 2000 but narrowly lost the electoral college.

Michael Moore in TrumpLand is less of a movie and more of a monologue with some jokes. Polemicist Michael Moore takes centre stage in the Ohio town of Wilmington, in Clinton County where polls indicate huge support for Donald Trump.

This was filmed just recently and released a few weeks before election day. Moore understands why people might vote for Trump. Those who have lost jobs to foreign competition, maybe lost their homes and even their marriage broken up as a result.

Of course once you cast your vote for Trump out of anger it could be too late just in the Brexit vote in the UK in 2016.

The film is not really a hatchet job on Trump. I think it should had been. This multimillionaire son of a multimillionaire property developer which his swanky apartment buildings, luxury yachts, model turned wives and all types if glittering jewels suddenly tells the ordinary working Americans he understands their pain when all along he complains of having to pay minimum wage to his staff, buys foreign steel for his buildings, stiffs his suppliers and uses creative accountancy to avoid paying taxes for years.

Instead it is a defence for Hillary Clinton, a woman pilloried for 25 years ever since her husband Bill ran for the White House as a centrist, moderate Democrat.

Moore admits he has never voted for the Clintons but he admires Hillary for her knowledge, tenacity and courage to put up with all the flak thrown at her. Moore hopes that once elected Hillary might turn out to be more radical.

I guess Trump supporters will hate this film as so will those who have never liked Moore. At least he takes a refreshing take on Hillary, a woman who has to subdue her radical edge just to be accepted by the establishment and the media.

Moore manipulates for the good, I admire his bravery

I pretty much agree with everything said about Moore's great ability to communicate his ideas so as to persuade his audience. While he is doing it he goes over the top to sound like the people he is trying to persuade, then over the top to show the possible consequences of their beliefs or practices. This movie is similar in that way. Moore brilliantly makes his points while filming a live "lecture" with a few films and audio clips thrown in to drive things home a bit. Even the staging of talking from a podium, then from a work desk, then moving to an easy chair, like he is talking to you from his living room, shows you the steps he is moving through in his message. Very well thought out and executed. He also uses humor extremely well, getting both political sides laughing. My husband and I laughed many times during the film. We think his points are very valid and that the manipulation he used was only necessary to get people to listen to those points and concerns.

One other thing strikes me about this film - the timing of it's release (18 days before the election) and extreme financial risk of making it in a lecture format. Very different. I wonder if folks will give this film any attention after this election? He gives scenarios for how the world will change if Donald or Hillary is elected. The scenario about Trump taking office is laid out in great detail.

Honorable mentions: I really liked the way Moore describes how differently men and women are viewed, especially in politics. I was also happy that there was little mention of sex scandals (just a passing reference to the Clinton/Lewinski scandal) and no mention of emails. So sick of both of those.

I recommend this film to everyone, especially BEFORE voting on Nov. 8, and even after the election to see if Moore was right.

Michael Moore is so FAKE

As many people may know that Micheal Moore was slamming Clinton when she was going against Bernie. He later changed his tune as soon as Bernie was out. So when I watched this movie I was thinking to myself how he was advocating and trying to sell Hillary Clinton to people.

He really mislead people in this movie that have not educated themselves on how the Media and everything else were painting Trump as this "Evil Dictator". So by Micheal Moore going from slamming Hillary to becoming her "spokesperson" makes me think he is fake. He gives this persona off that he is the "Working People's" documentary film maker. But what I noticed is that he was doing the exact thing that everyone is tired of. He is a super rich guy that has made his money off of capitalism, but lectures others not to build walls while he lives in a huge private mansion with "Walls".

I think this election cycle I have seen through his mess. I know that he is just like all the other Hollywood people and I will no longer watch any movies of his.

Passionate, with some good points, but too clumsy in the entirety, and unlike to do much other than sing to the choir

Although his name is in the title of this filmed one man show, Trump isn't in any way the focus, however Clinton very much is – starting with the large pictures of her mounted all around the stage. I had come to this show not knowing what to expect but interested by what little I had heard – and for context I was watching it on the weekend where the FBI dropped the shock announcement that they were looking into more electronic information they had found related to the Clinton email investigation earlier this year.

Moore starts his show with honesty, about not being a Clinton voter, and not being a big fan of hers. He also delivers quite a passionate piece about why he understands people would turn to Trump as a rejection of a failed system, as opposed to Hillary – the manifestation of every politician to many people. It is ironic that this bit that he delivers seems to be the clip that has taken off – ironic because it shows how bang on the money he was, but at the same time it seems to be a rallying cry now more than a reflection (tellingly the use of the clip I have heard all cut off at "feels good" and loses "for a day, or a week" etc). From here he focuses on Clinton, to sell her as a person, to examine why she is disliked and how she has been treated. Unfortunately at this point the film goes from an engaging discussion style, into very much a sales pitch.

He is not helped by events in this election moving so quickly that his thoughts are already outdated. The leaks of the Podesta emails, the discovery of more information on electronic devices belonging to Carlos Danger, and the general opening up to public view of the feelings of those around her, and the big money dealings of the Foundation – all of these things are understandably absent from the film. However, Moore also skates around some other issues too, and it does feel like he is trying to sell Clinton as a person – something she has been roundly terrible at doing herself.

I did enjoy the clips from her graduation speech, and I did take a lot from his presentation on her treatment and sacrifices as a woman, but in the end the presentation starts to boil down to owing it to her, or owing her to America. This election may well be a 'through gritted teeth' for many people on both sides, but it doesn't make for a persuasive argument when spelt out. Trumpland ends up being this though; it does have moments of interesting discourse and content, but in the end it is an emotional appeal to vote for Clinton without enough in the way of reflection and consideration of the whole picture.

great message, but it's a one-man show and hit or miss (more hit than miss)

Basically a glorified stand up special/one-man show that's more about bringing people to Clinton than bashing Trump (there's *some* of that, but nowhere near what you might expect). Sometimes it's funny, other times not. The thing that bothered me the most was that some of the editing - from the cut always to the audience to the occasional (I think ADR) - was jarring. I suspect some choices came down to the fact that Moore wrote, directed and produced this piece mere *weeks* before he surprise-premiered it at the IFC Center in New York city (and iTunes, I think), so if it occasionally seems technically rushed that might be why.

The other criticism that I lay against it is that unlike Moore when he's really firing on his cylinders - Roger & Me, Fahrenheit 9/11, Where to Invade Next - his films can last past years, decades even, because they reflect the time they were set in, look at what went on (re, Flynt, Bush, America's problems at large), and go simply "What the f***?" In this case it's fine for the immediate now, but whoever is president will make it rather dated, albeit the idea that this will be a cautionary tale (to put it mildly) for the people who vote in Trump in the unlikely event he's president is a righteous cause for a satirist/social commentator like Moore.

So, if you're set on seeing it anyway, check it out. For the uninitiated, wait for when it ends up being like free on VOD or something. It's a minor work ala Slacker Uprising or The Big One, though it's certainly not all bad.

One hour of bottom-of-the-barrel political maneuvering.

There is nothing redeeming about this show. It is utter trash.

The first half is spent ridiculing Trump and his supporters. Moore then flat out claims that Trump won't do anything he promises and that his supporters will all regret electing him the day after. He provides zero argument, reasoning or evidence for this. Instead he plays an extremely lame mock TV clip ridiculing Trump on inauguration day.

The next half is spent trying to convince viewers to vote for Hillary. Again, Moore has absolutely no argument, logic or reasoning as to why anyone should vote for Hillary. Here are the 3 tactics he uses to try to entice us to vote for Hillary: 1. He tells us that we should elect Hillary because she's a woman. 2. He tells us that he has a "crazy thought" that Hillary might literally be Bernie Sanders in disguise. 3. He breaks down and simply begs us to go vote for Hillary.

It's all so cringeworthy and ridiculous. Sorry Moore, but I'm not selecting a candidate based on their gender. Sorry Moore, but I'm not entertaining the ridiculous fantasy that Hillary might be Pope Francis; she's just as likely to be Hitler or the tooth fairy. And sorry Moore, but I'm disgusted that you would make a movie to beg us to vote for someone when you can't even explain why.

Moore at his kindest and gentlest

This is Michael Moore at his very best—very thoughtful and penetrating, and hardworkingly committed to fostering understanding of some of our fundamental political challenges.

I felt he did an excellent job of presenting the view that Trump's rise on the national political scene is a warranted but ultimately very destructive reaction to the neglect and abandonment of countless Americans by our economic and social order.

"Michael Moore in TrumpLand" is full of genuine humanity and surprisingly gentle humor.

I'm doubtful Moore's efforts in making this film stand much chance of having an impact on the electoral outcome, but I still think it's great that he has given us an offering of such quality.

I must say on an anecdotal note that upon being re-exposed to typical TV coverage of the election after having left a screening of this movie, I felt as though I'd gone from a sane place to a place of true barbarity. (I was really, truly surprised to find how super-barbaric what has grown all-too-familiar of late suddenly seemed.)

absolute garbage

I wanted to be open minded so I watched this movie. After all, he is an Oscar winning director so there's got to be some substance right? Wrong. So wrong. This is not a movie based on facts and figures in order to expose things that might sway opinions, which is what I was hoping for. It ignores facts altogether for the most part. He takes extremely complex issues, plays out inaccurate hyper-literal scenarios for the "Trump people", and spins way of the radar of reality. My opinion of course, but don't expect any eye opening revelations to broaden your understanding of this political race. As a matter of fact, it's quite the opposite.

A neutral voice from Europe

About myself, I'm a 37 year old man from Germany. I'm following the US-Election since the primaries, because the President of America has a big impact on all our lives IMO. My personal views could be called moderate/left-wing republican if I had to compare them to our system (that would be the conservative party in our land). Although I agree with many views of Michael Moore and watched all his documentaries, I dislike his one-sideness, lack of context and over-dramatization.

I decided to write my first review here because I could add some neutral opinion I think. After reading the other reviews, I noticed that they are mostly influenced by the voting views of the writers and not really about this documentary itself. Of course a Clinton follower will vote it high and a Trump follower will vote it down.

Now about the film. Yes this is an ad to generate Cliniton voters, I won't deny that, but it is so much more if you look closer. Normally Michael Moore used to just bring up facts and stories in his documentaries and let you draw your own conclusions. And what I didn't like in these previous pieces, was that he'd always shown only one side of the story and dramatized it. But in this case he shared more of his own views and conclusions and did that in a way that you really connected to it.

I like that Moore didn't attack Trump directly once. I can't stand this personalized attacking and all the lying in this campaign anymore, from BOTH sides. So it is very refreshing to see someone, who try's to win over people with logic and facts instead of badmouthing the other side. Many reviewers wrote that he's one-sided and let Clinton shine in to good a light. But he is not a reporter or a political analyst or whatever. He's a filmmaker who shares his views with an audience! And IMO he doesn't glorifies Clinton, he just reveals some facts and truth about her that are liked to be forgotten.

But if this had been only about Clinton or Trump or the campaign, I would probably had given it a 6-7 and begone. What really got me, was when he spoke about Americas current state of mind and the past. I was totally moved when he read his notes on the desk. It was so much truth about the anger, the frustration and the feeling... no the wanting to send a *fu.. you* up to the establishment. I'm not an American and I just get the news from CNN here, but in Europe we have many similar problems. Politicians that only work for them self to stay in Office, raising gaps between poor and rich and so on. Maybe it's not as bad as in the US, I'm in no position to compare that, but I can relate to the general mood. Like with Donald Trump, we have many extreme party's and politicians on the rise all over Europe. And they also try to use our fear and anger to overthrow the establishment. After hearing Moores words in this moment all I could think about was, that the same is happening to us and we should do something about it.

And there were so much more, about the change in power regarding the genders, about decency and compassion in society, about learning from the past and accept changes. I advise everyone to watch this film twice. And the second time try to blend out all the usual rhetoric and jokes and concentrate on the parts when he gets serious. There is so much truth and emotion in these moments, just try to forget that this is a campaign-ad and try to get the story behind it.

Also the moment about the Healthcare issue totally shocked me. Don't get me wrong, I knew about the private payment and insurance in the States, but I never believed it to be so extreme. I had to watch "Sicko" right after this to get an incling of what he's talking about, and after this I googled the story about Hillary and the universal health care. After that I was shocked even more. As someone who lives in a country, where the best medical care is free and always available for everyone, I can't fathom to live in a world like this. But I don't want to discuss this matter here, just say that this moment got me even more after I learned all that.

I have to give this a 10 just for the moments when he really got me, and there where several. They overshadowed all the campaigning, if you really listen to it with an open mind.

A bit funny at times, but heavily misinformed and biased.

I am not a Hilary supporter, I am definitely not a Trump supporter, I am actually a Mexican, but I am a human before anything else.

I had a lot of respect for Moore some time ago, he actually cared a lot about the citizens of the USA and the world, but now all he does its to shove his misinformed opinion on everyone, I guess that's what he has always done, but he was at least still a humanist, now he just respects those who agree with him, while misinforming people.

He said a lot of sexist things like "Women don't shoot people" or "Women didn't invented the nuclear bomb", and hes wrong, all that has been debunked, go to twitter and you will see the responses he got from people correcting him, its like he doesn't realize that women are human and humans can do anything, it doesn't matter their gender, race or any other meaningless biological element, everyone its different, your behavior depends on who you are and how you were raised.

The show itself was also very bad, almost as bad as Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party (2016), also another misinformed and toxic documentary that its also badly made, but this time hes for Hilary, at least hes not Dinesh D'Souza (Dinesh D'Souza its a scumbag conservative liar, a horrible person and a horrible filmmaker).

Having said that, Moore at least tries to get the other side, hes not a complete asshole, I think, there's still some of the old humanist Michael Moore who tries to do the right thing to help humans, and I respect that.

Not even a movie

This "movie" is really just Michael Moore attempting stand up while excusing Hillary (ie "hillary lied because we cant be trusted" and "Hillary's health care failure was because people were mean to her"). His complete unawareness of the bigotry which riddles through his every view and principle is astounding, and his argument against Trump is simply that, while he thinks Trump is probably the best choice, he is convinced that Trump will bomb Mexico and make his kids run the country.

EVERY voter should watch this "movie". The entire thing looks like it was shot with a hand held camcorder and written, produced, and shot in an evening, but it's a realistic view into how a Hillary supporter's mind actually works. I have no doubt that Moore believes what he says, thinks he is consistent, and imagines that this "movie" presents a coherent, rational argument. In fact, it is simply a humorless rant relying on ad homonyms, straw-man arguments, racist propaganda, sexist propaganda, deliberate misinformation and the expected ending line of "vote for Hillary because she's a woman".

Michael Moore's paid campaign endorsement for one side

I'm a fan of Michael Moore's work or I have been up till this little turd.

It was hard going, not because the content was difficult to understand, but because it was delivered badly, was poorly written and to be honest, it was really boring in parts. People actually were expected to pay to be exposed to what is essentially Moore's terrified apologist endorsement of Clinton over Trump. The general message was 'you have 2 options, and if you don't vote for Clinton you're going to hell'.

I expected a lot more from this guy who has understood and challenged some big players in his time, but obviously not up for the challenge of tackling the broken electoral system that presented the American voting public with two viable yet nonviable choices, and that's it.

No mention of the broken undercurrent to the state of the country, no mention of nothing's going to get better, just we don't want it to get worse.

This movie was insulting to the intelligence of the viewer in that it said the choice was voting for trump and if you were scared of that then you should accept Clinton, vote for her and then shut up and keep your head down lie a good little minion.

Greatest country in the world? Who the hell says that? Not people from a healthy country that's for sure.

The jokes were flat, and embarrassing, he didn't address why Trump is there and what people really see in him. Apparently subscribing to the 50% of voters are dumb philosophy, and that's a mistake.

There are reasons things are how they are and insulting an audience into doing what you tell them to isn't a solution to that. I've no idea why Moore thought it would be. This has hurt his brand and credibility more than any movie he's done in his career, and it hasn't achieve a single good thing, and it so could have. Moore really doesn't know what he's dealing with here and it shows.

The end result is Moore telling us he understands this stuff so much better than us, and we should just trust him and ignore the scary people hiding behind the curtains, except he gives us no indication that he really does understand things any better than the rest of us, so it ends up being exactly what it is, a Clinton campaign endorsement, just do what I say, don't think, don't feel, don't look any further. Fail.

Good to see some contemplation taking place in America.

In the mids of the race to the bottom in the unfolding of this election campaign this statement sure is a breath of fresh air. You may not, and do not have to agree with Michael Moore's viewpoints to see that he does manage to get some historical and future perpectives, a sense of common ground and good humor in the room. Polarisation is such a horrendous side-effect of (bad) election campaigns and defusing it in the heat of the moment is very, very tricky. With commentary from the mainstream media at kindergarten level we need Michaels kind of clowning to ridicule the court and help tie odds and options together. Clever and entertaining. But by all means, don't take his word for it...make up your own mind!

Liberal Propaganda endorsing Clinton...

I just finished watching this, and its the common Liberal Point of View. Painting everything in Black and White (dualistic Mindsets), and transferring the Message on a Emotional Level...not a Logical one.

Mr. Moore has no magic Mirror that whispers the Future in his Ear...how can he make any Predictions how it will look like under Clinton OR Trump?

Without any doubt, this Movie done by Moore will resonate with many people... after all we're Emotional Beings. There is however a crowd of people living among us who separated from the Emotional Point of View and evolved into a Logical one. You won't fool us ;)

He offered a Inside View in the Past of Hillary Clinton, her good deeds...what a good person she was in her younger Age. Did you ever hear the Phrase : Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolute?

We are not measured by our Action in the Past, only by those in the Present. And if you look at that...she doesn't look so glorious no more, does she?

Benghazi, Email Server (Wikileaks), Haitii Charity Scandal, Donation Scandals, Funding of ISIS, no-fly-zone in Syria (which will spark a War with Russia), TTIP/CETA, inciting Violence at Trump Rallies.... the list goes on, and on, and on.

At some Point he asks the Audience, if they can say anything nice about Hillary Clinton...

If you call the Devil Evil...is that a Compliment or an Insult to the Devil? So let me say something nice about Hillary Clinton... She is the greatest Incarnation of the Antichrist that ever lived.

About more than just one man running for president

This film is about far more than just one man running for president. Its about our culture in America, what we value, and how we've ended up in a position where so much of the electorate has decided to get behind a figure who is more than a man, but rather "the biggest f*%k-you ever recorded in human history," as Michael Moore says. We need to understand how Trump came to be, what he represents, how we helped create the problem, and what to do now. For a longer review, The New Yorker published an excellent review of the film entitled, What Michael Moore Understands about Hillary Clinton, By Richard Brody. A must-see film - heartfelt and personal - Michael Moore at his best.

Low quality jokes with poorly informed politics

Moore is not a comedian. Throughout the film you will see attempts at comedy that really don't measure up spliced in between hyperbole and misleading half-truths.

Michael Moore has always had a political agenda however in the past he has used this to shine light onto the human side of an issue and critique the establishment. While I always disliked his heavy bias in his documentaries I admired the fact that he did take the establishment on head on. It wasn't always perfect but it opened the discussion.

This on the other hand seems to be a poorly written cash grab or political propaganda or both. He misleadingly examines the issues and will present half truths to make an argument. Truly a shame.

To best illustrate this documentary take his argument about the 4 million petition to redo the vote. He posits these are millions of BRexiters that wish to undo their vote when in reality it was a poll largely manipulated by individuals outside of the United Kingdom (to the tone of 70% or more of signatures) and that those that signed were primarily far left anti-democracy totalitarians that believe in the notion of making the people vote until they give you the answer you personally desire. Of the people who voted for BRexit only 6% regret their vote which is far from the picture he paints where a horde of peasants is too stupid to vote correctly or understand the ramifications of voting to leave the European Union.

Tired clichés and transparent manipulation. Another Moore flop

Long after Michael Moore's heyday, before he was exposed as a shameless propagandist, Moore continues to use the same tricks, this time with even less success. TrumpLand ignores important context, fails to support its outlandish smears, and generally vomits back nothing more than the tired slander everyone has already heard from CNN and the NYT. This film brings literally nothing novel to the table, failing even to correct the early and often debunked complaints such as Trump's "support for the Iraq war" and the idea that he started a "racist" birther movement against Obama. This movie is essentially a sloppy recap of every scandal the DNC has issued right before each debate, with even less objectivity and without even the pretense of journalistic ethics. The poor production quality, wandering narrative, and internal inconsistencies do nothing to prop up this coughing, aged, corpse of a movie.

Not Deep Enough

This isn't really a film, it is more of a one man show. It is pretty much Micheal Moore's love letter to Hillary Clinton, and that would have been fine but the name of this movie is Micheal Moore Trumpland. But he talks about Trump for like 2 minutes. All Micheal Moore does is talk about how awesome Hillary is for 2 hours and about why we need a female president. He doesn't talk about Jill Stein, I guess she isn't female enough for him. Another problem I have is how he flat out lies about the Pope. He said our current Pope was super conservative and only became progressive once he became the Pope, that is a flat out lie. The Pope had a huge reputation as a reformer and progressive before he was appointed. The Catholic Church picked him for that very reason, because of all the scandals. Anyway Moore was trying to make the point that Hillary will suddenly become super progressive once she becomes president. Moore does way too much damage control for Hillary when he would have been better off just attacking Trump.

Brilliantly written and delivered oratory!

If you want to learn how to write for an audience, how to learn to speak in public and to win over a crowd, and how to be able to orate for over an hour without a teleprompter or even many notes - then put this on and watch and learn. This is a masterclass, and I am stunned at how good he is at it.

Yes, I've seen his documentaries, and his old TV programmes, but they're kinda easy to make - lots of editing and prompts, and of course you can always go again if you screw up a line. But this was fabulous - real old-school oratory as he prowled the stage bringing on board a hostile audience (from the applause he asked for at the beginning to show who were republicans and who were democrats the split seemed around 50/50) with some really clever techniques (e.g. told the women how great they were to get them all nodding agreement, then told the men they were a dying breed and a 'minority'). He even used a drone so we could all laugh at the corralled Muslims!

And his real triumph was to start by slagging off Hillary - said he didn't vote for her now or previously, said she killed Vince - piled it on until every redneck in the place was cheering him on. And then... and then he just spun it around and talked quietly. Convinced everyone of the righteousness of the path and the journey, and finished off with a crescendo of oratory!

Brilliant, just brilliant. Whatever you think of Michael Moore, watch this!

PPV TedTalk

This is essentially a pay per view ted talk with very poor sound quality. Can it really be referred to as a movie--even if you ignore the sound quality (e.g. obvious dubbed voice over), given its only just over an hour? That is the equivalent of an HBO special. Someone must have changed the definition of film or something although Itunes categorized it as a TV show so I am not alone in my confusion.

As for the content, Moore as usual is an engaging speaker, even if you don't agree with the words escaping his mouth his schtick catches and holds your attention. In this iteration, he employs some rather tired anecdotes to poke fun at liberals, conservatives, millennials, boomers, Latin Americans, muslims etc. in an effort to build some common ground. Judging from the audience shots, it doesn't seem to work with many other than the choir . The expressions of some of the audience members is downright chilling at times. One star for capturing the audience's response fairly honestly throughout the performance.

If you want a political analysis--Per usual, Moore ignores the facts and plays to the emotions in an effort to bolster the neoliberals over the finish line in the presidential election. The tone essentially morphs into a Clinton love letter. He rehashes some of the commentary in Sicko for this film to paint clinton as a victim and fighter.

Forget that there hasn't been a hawkish policy that clinton hasn't embraced, a trickle down deregulation policy that she hasn't supported, ignore the fit she had when confronted by code pink in 2003 about her support for the iraq war, that she was the signatory on the alberta clipper in 2009 while in the state department. Nope, forget all the behavior we've witnessed in the past which clearly indicates over the years since Wellesley, she has become a cynical, power hungry, self serving woman who has long since forgotten why she ever entered public life. Nope, Moore pleads that we cling to the hope she may be a Trojan horse. A proverbial St. Francis biding time.

The entire tone of the movie is more akin to the Obama marketing scheme without the finesse and eye catching artwork.

I am still puzzling over why there is a nuclear warhead on the stage. Are we to fear Trump's finger on the trigger or is it there to convince us Clinton has the huztpah to use it.....

ETA: save ur dough & watch it on U tube or better yet watch Moore in Talks at Google from jan. 2016 because he pretty much says everything in that interview that he does in this film.

Not Difficult to Say 3 Good Things about Michael Moore after Watching

8.9 of 10.

1. Michael Moore can do stand-up comedy. He is funny, witty, and quick on his feet for someone who moves around so slowly.

2. Moore can do Colbert-like roasting satire.

3. Moore should run for President in 2020 regardless of whether Hillary Clinton turns into America's version of Pope Francis. It will make a good practice run and he has great ideas worthy of prime-time debates regardless of whether he can execute an executive order to have postal carriers actually deliver marijuana to every home on every Friday. Maybe, if Hillary turns out really great, she'll voluntarily relinquish power, something Trump would definitely never do.

While this isn't a documentary, it definitely has documentary-like qualities. Obscure parts of history are revealed, including long impressive connections with leaders in other nations and the respect that Hillary has from them.

As for Trumpland, another documentary aspect of this film is the insight given into a small part of Ohio known as Clinton County.

I gave this a 2 as there are some bits (and I mean bits) that are quite funny and non political but the rest of it is just subjective political endorsement for Clinton. A documentary (as this is described) is a factual unbiased commentary which includes both sides of a subject carried out in an objective way. This is not. This is merely one mans opinion that is so tainted by his self confessed adoration for Clinton that it should regarded as a love video and nothing more. You expect politicians to spout crap and bullshit but film makers should be more responsible for the films they produce, especially when they're labelled "documentaries".

this is awful in every aspect of moore objectivity.

he says bad things for the first 30 minutes about the things trump has done.

then he spends rest of the time telling that hillary went around the globe and was nice to poor kids around the world. he also mention she was really fighting for freedom when she was young.

he doesn't mention +3000 mails hillary sent from private servers instead of government servers. still she had the opportunity to have bill clinton at her side, still this happens.

she says she has revealed all mails now but still, if i sent +3000 mail from my work i'd be kicked out same day.

have watched and liked all other moore production but it's apparent that he has either lost it or got paid for this production.
