An intriguing beginning

Warning: Spoilers
I have yet to see the following two episodes, but this was a rather intriguing beginning for this series of three shorts; the CGI is quite impressive: Maybe some viewers will merely dismiss this claiming it is too much like a "videogame cutscene", but I found this rather incredible from a technical standpoint, similar to the previous work made by Veselin Efremov, "The Blacksmith".

Hope the sequels (Both directed by Neill Blomkamp, the same filmmaker responsible of movies like District 9, Elysium and Chappie) don't disappoint, and this honestly has potential to be turned into a feature-length movie.

beautiful. and that is all.

It gives an admirable visual delight. all seems perfect and the story seems well known. the only problem - the brutal end. after the first half, the credits are the only answer to the desire to understand the film who, in fact , remains just a sketch. beautiful, visual stunning. but far to give a story. only a start point.

Warning: Spoilers
"Adam" is a 2016 6-minute animated short film that is a collaboration between all kinds of European countries, even if looking at the name of writer and director Veselin Efremov and the cast members, Bulgaria seems to be a driving force. This little movie follows the title character that we see waking up inside some laboratory and then join a group of fellow robots. The name of the character and its reference to the creation story is definitely not a coincidence, even if you won't find his Eve in here. I would say the first half or so was better than the second half and this decline in quality was eventually also the main reason why I give this one a lower rating than I initially intended to, a thumbs-down and a negative recommendation. Yes the looks are pretty stunning, but that's not enough anymore these days with how great animated films are designed visually. On a side-note, this film inspired South African Oscar-nominated filmmaker Neill Blomkamp to give us his take on Adam a little while later. But we talked about that one already on another occasions. This one here you may want to skip I guess unless SciFi animation is really really your think. Otherwise, watch something else instead.
