The end reveal, broke my heart. Hence the 7 star rating. Disappointed with Jaces 'real father'. I wanted to stop watching this series after I found out my two favs were siblings. Of course, I will keep watching anyway. I will find another two favs in this series eventually. I hope.

I liked the trial and what Izzy explained was so powerful. "The law is law" is such a huge and broad statement to just be throwing out there, and despite "listening" to what the defendant is saying, the judge just overrides it because of their biased opinion. It's just an unfortunate thing that happens a lot, being titled as "justice." That aside, I knew there was something up with Jace's dad, and I'm glad Clary did too. What was such a huge letdown was to find out Valentine is the father of both Clary AND Jace. Now, this could totally be a lie because as we saw in the other dimension, they were still romantically together while Clary had the same parents. But if it's not, I'll probably have to stop watching because familial relationships and romantic relationships mixing is not my cup of tea. I will continue to see how it goes but hopefully, this can get settled to a point where I'm not uncomfortable.
Parallel universe

In the parallel universe Jace and Clary are lovers. Clary parents are the same in both universes and so are the other character's. So it is clear that they can't be brother and sister. But yet in the same episode Valentines tells them that they are. I think the entire idea with the parallel universe could have been thought of a bit more! I am not sure maybe the other universe will be relevant in other seasons as if not I think it was just strange to introduce it.
