Two shows this programme tries to ape 'Malcolm in the Middle' and 'The Wonder Years' both declined as their male lead grew up, and I feel a bit like 'The Goldbergs' is heading in that direction.
Because for all that's good here, I missed seeing Adam wide eyed and naïve about the world as he was in the first two series.
There were some nice moments, but especially in the Adam/Bev storyline I felt I'd seen it all before.
