Hidden Gem! Great Suspense, Makes You Think!!
mercfma11 January 2016
My first impression of the first few episodes was "well this isn't bad, its not great. Seems kinda typical, hopefully it'll get better if i continue" And boy does it get better, make sure you give this a chance because everything after episode 5 has you in constant thought. Its by far one of the best suspense and questioning shows I've seen, ever. This show was literally on my mind all day, thinking about who could be the "seventh"?! Now as the show goes, the story seems pretty typical which I believe is why so many drop this before it gets to the part that makes it worth watching. There's 6 heroes that gain a goddesses blessing(basically) for being the best fighters in the world that will all join together to kill the demon god & save humanity, BUT when all are heroes finally meet up theirs 7 of them!? And thats where the real story of this show begins, deception, suspicion, doubt, who can you trust who can't you trust? Literally every episode has you thinking "well maybe its them" and then the next episode your thinking "no it has to be them!" and so on, its one of the best shows that have completely lost me in thought like this. The artwork and animation is beautiful, everything from the character designs & the unique abilities each hero has to the amazing scenery its all very nice and you get sucked into that world. The music wasn't bad by any means, i enjoyed it all very much but it felt more like theatrical music rather than a show/anime music(like it felt a little to heavily poured on in some less intense parts than it should have been). I really liked the opening and endings, the songs were great and both changed multiple times throughout the series which was cool/nice. If your looking for something with action, cool characters(in both design & personalities), decent story and something that will wrack at your brain for literally hours then this is definitely something you want to check out!

4/5 Why? Basically my only complaint is the story seems typical by first glance, but it is still very good at doing what it set out to do. & The music seems a little to intense for some parts of the show when its not necessary(not a big deal though, it doesn't effect enjoyment at all just my opinion). The character designs are some of the coolest from any show I've ever seen, "Fremy" in particular is one of my all time favorites from any show I've seen at this point in time. If you want something thats gonna have you doubting yourself and thinking for hours after you finished the episode this is something you have got to check out and give a chance for it to get to that point, don't give up on it cause its "to slow feeling" in the beginning.

Not bad but needs more development
WeAreLive7 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Ablet Mayer a brave of six flowers claims he is the strongest man in the the world. He faces off against a some warriors but gets locked up in a dungun. Then he mets a bunny looking princess, her body guard Goldov, a sniper Flamey and A cat man Hans. To go and open the barrier. However, there are seven braves and one of them is the impostare but who is it.

Story wise it felt typical at first but got better. However, I felt there was still a lot left to cover as the end seemed too much of a cliffhanger. They could have had at least 15-16 episodes over 12 so they could have covered them fighting the demon good. But that is my only complaint.

The best part is that there is even a dub available if you struggle to follow subs like I do so you are not missing.

My rating 7/10 as I think it needs some improvement.

Rokka no Yuusha - Different and thought-provoking
Cafelar19 January 2020
Initially a common story, a great evil appears, an unusual hero that leads to the final struggle and victory of humanity. However, in the first episodes he shows what he came for, placing more unusual heroes in the middle of history, and instead of converting to fights he runs away from the pattern in the middle of an enigma, reminding the famous enigma of the prisoner, very well controlled with a surprise to the Final. Unfortunately still waiting for the next season.

I just LOVE this. . .

Warning: Spoilers
One of my favorite series because fighting scenes sick and you can't get enough of them . I watch it again and again it never bores me . I wish it was continued . I like the story too , but plot twist at the ending kinda makes everything render zero. Don't worry there's no second season ;( .

In the end , good series overall . I wish it was continued. Main character is so cool ! I mean he do not have any game breaking powers but he uses tools to fight gods and demons .

Actually series start when all 6 heroes gather in one place . But there is 7 , who is imposter ? Should watch ! You will thank me !

Not that great
chacham21 June 2019
Pros: It's anime and has fantasy elements with some could-be-decent background story.

Meh: Characters are two-dimensional, it was obvious from the beginning who the fake was.

Con: Characters are ugly, fighting scenes make no sense, story is forced.

The basic story is a bad guy is coming, 6 good guys are chosen automatically and must show up at a certain point, but 7 people show up. After that the story is simply a poorly done whodunnit. After everything is figured out the season ends, so there is no real fight shown.

Conclusion: It's watchable, so if you're really bored it may be worth it. Otherwise, don't bother.

Great Story
MoreBassFourU18 April 2019
Excellent story and well drawn. Starts out ok but then goes in a direction I could have not foreseen. The animation is done really well also. This is basically the first half of the book series. Where it ends is ok but leaves you ready for the rest. Its been like 4 years at this point. I can only hope they finish the series some day...

Promising anime that failed to deliver.
dameon_green31 May 2020
The main plot of the anime centers around the "Rising Daemon Lord" trope which is nothing new (but often entertaining) followed by a mystery.

The unique art, regional/cultural backdrop (Central / South American, Pre-Colombian), protagonists and their limitations mix pretty well with the storytelling creating an interesting world.

However the final minutes of episode 12 guts the series, killing the investment in the characters with a botched hook/ending.

All in all it's the animation and part of the story makes it a worthwhile background watch if you've got empty space in your catalog and I'd watch a 2nd season just to see if they could redeem the horrible ending.

Pros:
  • Atypical local / backdrop.
  • Good animation.
  • Above average English Dubbing.
  • Very limited and subtle "Fan Service".

Cons:
  • No 2nd season.
  • Predictable.
  • Not a fan of the Assassins voice (English Dubbing).
  • Storytelling could be better.
  • Dark horse character's outfit is ridiculous.
  • Terrible ending "hook".

Irishchatter13 August 2019
So basically it's about a red haired guy who overthinks that he's **it hot and meets an annoying bunny girl who just can't stop talking.

Yeah I don't care what anyone else says but honestly the whole first episode made me go zz

Eh.
invisibleunicornninja25 September 2018
I watched the first two episodes. According to the one other reviewer on IMDb at the time of me writing this, it gets good after episode 5. Sorry, but I'm not the type of person who wants to wait that long in the hopes that something gets good. In my experience if something is going to be good, episode one is also good.

Visuals - The animation is alright. The fight choreography is pretty bad, along with some of the character designs. The overall look isn't terrible, leaning more on the generic side of things. I like how this seems to pull from cultures like the Mayans/Incas/Aztecs. Not a lot is done with this setting, but it is kind of nice.

Plot - This premise doesn't seem that interesting to be honest. There is some potential here, but it seems like its going to just keep being boring. The only real option I see from this show is the two leads (and others) melodramatically riding around on those horses for the rest of the runtime leading up to an unsatisfying fight scene as the finale.

Characters - I don't even know. There isn't a whole lot of development as far as I watched. I want to know why the princess has those ears.

There is no adventure in this anime and its misleading
kennyT-1998719 January 2022
What starts off as a normal adventure and mission in normal fantasy story soon turns out to a dispute resolution for the episodes 4-12. There is actually no mission, no forward story to defeat the demon god.

Its weird in a way, it seems the whole story of defeating the demon god comes to a halt when a dispute breaks out between the chosen ones and then they just keep going back and forth running mind games and numerous scenarios.

This series is suited for someone with identity crisis, its more like a personal reflection and morality based story rather than adventure.

Also there is a girl with swamp super power. I literally meant it, they control the swamps by puking out what ever they eat. Don't ask me, apparently that's a super power in this anime.

Its a hilarious series, so I kept forwarding the anime every so often when I saw it was a drag.

New concept, terrible delivery
solimanahmed-2803326 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
To start off, there are going to be spoilers in this review. The animation isn't bad. I actually enjoyed watching the animation, and the characters. So, visually its decent. However, the crash and burn is within the story.

It starts off with Adlet, a guy who claims to be the strongest man in the whole world, and he wants to be part of the six braves to fight the demon lord. Thus, as usual, the protagonist is bestowed with a crest making his dream come true. Fast forward to when the six braves gather to find the demon lord, there were 7 braves in total. Now here is where the plot twist begins which is not necessarily a bad thing. However to spend the entirety of the season looking for the imposter is ridiculous.

The story could have addressed this plot twist differently. Instead of having them doubt each other and try to kill each other, the story could have been that they made peace with the fact there are 7 braves, and focused on the real reason why people are watching this. Defeating the demon lord and restoring peace to the land. Instead they opted to create 12 mind numbing episodes of boring interrogations, doubt between the protagonists, and tedious quarrels to have a terrible grand reveal.

I feel like this could have been so much more even in the state it is in. If only they had focused more on progressing the story and characters rather than the suspense, they could have had more time to show people the complexities of the characters personalities, to see the dream of the imposter realized at a critical moment, to have jaw dropping fight scenes, etc. I watched a different anime before this one called "rising of the shield hero". That anime had the same animosity and suspense as this one does, yet they were able to deliver it well with a good story and progression. Something this anime deeply lacks.

In conclusion, and I know this is a long review, the idea was okay. But, the delivery was terrible. It just didn't keep me hooked on the suspense. It was only out of sheer boredom I stayed to find out who it was. And i did not watch a second after i found out who it was. Simply because the story ended. The anime was over. Anything after that was pointless. God, this was just an animated version of a really bad Among Us game.
