What an incredibly powerful episode!
galaxyharvey6 March 2020
Such an amazing episode. From a nail biting opening sequence to a hellish ending this episode has it all. Lucifer has grown throughout this season, from a hedonistic devil to a caring angel. Tom Ellis as Lucifer gives the best performance I have ever seen, he can say more with a slight rise of an eyebrow than most actors can in full on manic mode! I actually felt like crying for Lucifer in this episode, I really felt his pain and isolation.

The cliff hanger ending means I will have to move on to season 2 sooner than I had planned, like now!

Problem with metaphysical escalation
alexfath27 April 2016
I enjoy the show, but if they continue to deny an actually true metaphysical escalation, it s going to end blatant and ordinary. The show needs more and heaviest elements of the metaphysical, the way they are leading it seems to be rather untrue considering the true nature of devil and its power. Give to the show a more concrete path of storyline, leave out all those weak-ling kind of metro-sexual stuff... 1) Decker needs to realize his true nature. She even saw him to be shot in last episode and didn't even wonder about this.. 2) Lucifer looks many times so weak it s going to be rather a joke. 3) Please stop all those karate style fights with criminals.. I mean he is the devil , an angel, whatever, you make him look like karate-kid hero..

Devil change deals for a human
tahirekamal23 February 2020
Well that is complete nonsense, The Devil having a soft spot for a human is a bit acceptable, but going all the way to make a deal between God and Lucifer like that, that is complete crap

The fight scene with the gunmen was a joke
athspk27 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Really it was like watching entry-level karate tutorials, where the attackers make an offensive move and then just remain in that position waiting to be hit by Lucifer and Amenadiel. For a season-ending episode I expected more intensity. Regarding Amenadiel, back when Maze threw him a knife, he dodged it without effort. But for some lazy reason, he never saw Malcolm coming! Regarding Malcolm, instead of the torturing punishment i was expecting, he just got shot instead. Regarding Lucifer's mom, i did get a big WTF at the end, but I really don't mind (if there is a good explanation in next season). And of course (I can't emphasize this enough)... The fight scene with the gunmen was a joke!!

The worst show of 2021!
austinwhale-6039716 September 2021
I am embarrassed to be a part of a human race that could create garbage like this. I have only watched seasons 1-5 as a filled backround show when I had NOTHING else to do. Seasons 2-4 (we don't talk about season 1) were OKAY tv. Like average "THE CW" tv. Season 5 part 2 was HORRIBLE! Like the worst tv I have ever seen (I stuck to it because I thought it would get better, because I have devoted so much time.) Supernatural a Tv show from the CW in its first season that came out in 2005....had 10 times better graphics and fighting seasons then the season 5 finale in 2021 for a netflix show!!! (TERRIBLE) The story is terrible, all the characters but perky forensic girl sucked! The actor of lucifer is terrible! The angels were laughable! I can not believe netflix cancelled gems like santa clarita diet, the society and I am not okay with this...to keep making GARBAGE tv shows like this. I am not going to even watch season 6...because after finishing season 5, I was depressed for days for all the time I had wasted to this GARBAGE!!!!

More interesting
regionsam4 July 2019
This episode was better than most in season 1, however it was nothing special, it was full of cringe and bad acting. The only reason I rated it 7, was because the story was more interesting

[7.3] The one worth saving!
cjonesas6 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 13: Beautifully and interestingly made in the shows standards, but nothing very impressing and head-scratching.

Aside, the few ending minutes that are conveniently interesting, most of the episode as always only highlights the (very) good acting by Tom Ellis.

Mum escaped?! How convenient...

If Lucifer Morningstar had thought the confession of the real murderer would set matters right, he was proved to be disastrously wrong, as his brother deciding to settle his own score put paid that notion.

But disasters merely mount higher as yet another murder is laid at his door, so how will Lucifer's decide to deal with this dilemma, with equanimity?

Has detective Chloe Decker had a frontal lobotomy? Of course not, but what could possibly be her rationale in seemingly making such a complete volte face, from complete disdain to actually backing him up.

Detective Malcolm Graham has been on a sort of a roller coaster ride, since Amendiel decided to make him the offer he simply could not refuse, but this turned out to be the proverbial poison chalice.

His decisions have been based on the lowest common denominator that is his true character, there is no grand plan plan or even illusion merely yet more mediocrity.

Brothers Lucifer Morningstar and Amenadiel along with Mazikeen seem for once to have a common cause and adversary, but will they manage to prevail?
