Here we come to the ending of this beautiful story. Binodini keeps on searching for Bihari. As we already know they run into each other at the train station. Having told each other their story and coming to peace they still don't end up together as Binodini leaves him there.
This was a beautiful conclusion to the great story. In this episode we once again see a lot of strong character portrayals and scenes. Binodini leaving was a powerful ending. I read that Rabindranath Tagore regretted that he didn't let the two marry but that society would not have approved of it as it was an earlier novel and it was already controversial. While it would have been beautiful to see a happy ending I think this sad conclusion actually added a lot of strength to the story. One could see their feelings and also feel her sacrifice for him.
