Warning: Spoilers
Naruto Shippuden has reached a strange point. The protagonist is clinically dead, and the main villain of Shippuden that was supposed to be dead suddenly is alive and kicking. Confusion reigns. Entertainment is granted but only if the viewer can sustain, support these unbelievable plot twists. What happens is that Black Zetsu is still possesing Obito and tells Madara that he has the half of Kurama in control, besides of the right Rinnegan. The old Uchiha wants to take those things, and the others are surprised to see that he has the powers of the Rikudo Sennin. Sakura is watching the scene carefully as she holds Naruto's heart with her hand. Minato senses that Madara is even stronger than Obito was before. Black Zetsu attempts to leave Obito, but is suddenly stopped by him. Obito somehow regains conciousness, control over Black Zetsu in a mysterious way, and tells Madara that they need to talk. Kakashi stops Gaara from attacking because they need the Kyuubi to save Naruto. Obito asks Madara what is him. The old Uchiha says that he is Madara, the one who rejects this world. The one who participates on the plan to achieve the Infinite Tsukuyomi. He continues: he showed him the path to be the savior of the world. The Rikudo Sennin spread the chakra with the intention of allowing people to connect their spirits and understand each other. But instead, they used it to connect the physical and spiritual part to produce ninjutsu. They keep fighting, like Kaguya did, and the times before her. Sakura is stunned to hear what he is talking about. Kakashi and Gaara think the same. Madara says that even if people tried to understand each other, they would have learned that is impossible. Chakra only generates conflict, a source of suffering. Was natural that eventually the two of them would end up clashing. Those who have power seek fight, those who don't have it lose everything. So as the one with the strongest chakra, he will create a world without it. He will succeed with the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Madara tells him that he is not Obito, the one who inherited the Uchiha's chakra, who challenged Kakashi, loved Rin, that person lost everything because his power wasn't real. He reminds him that this world is a hell. Madara's speech was interesting and whatever, but is just expanding the reasons of what he believes. There's nothing new. In some ways, now his words denote more madness than before. Looks like Sakura, Kakashi and Gaara noticed. When Madara talked to Obito the first time his speech was more real. Now it's insane. Anyway, here is a key moment where nothing makes sense. Like I said, there are two important things without a good explanation. First, Naruto's state. As nice as was seeing Sakura give her partner mouth-to-mouth breathing, while helping to pump his heart, now she is doing only one of those things, seemingly. So during the whole talk, Madara's speech, how can Naruto remain alive if he is not receiving air constantly? I mean, Sakura's efforts during last episode must continue until the half of Kurama is sealed inside Naruto. That because Kishimoto chose not to allow the protagonist's resurrection when was needed. What happens here doesn't make sense. Naruto's life is basically gone, he is not sleeping, and Kishimoto took the time to write a conversation and a fight with all this. All sign of coherence was lost. And then, if Obito has nothing but Black Zetsu, performed the Rinne Tensei, and was basically dead on last episode (Kakashi couldn't sense his will anymore), how is possible for him to be alive and strong? Huge Plothole here. Obito shouldn't be alive. Even if Black Zetsu allows him that because of the Rinnegan, there is no way for Obito to regain control or will because the Gedo Mazo was extracted from him. Kurama said that the statue with a huge vital force was the only thing that kept Obito alive. So this is unexplainable.

The chapter follows with Madara offering his hand to Obito, so he can remain as the world's savior. But then, Kakashi, Gaara, and Minato try a combined attack. Unfortunately, Madara easily blocks them, cuts Minato's left arm, throws him to Gaara, and sends the formed rasengan against Kakashi. The sand wall Gaara formed falls down. Sakura is horrified. And just when Obito reaches Madara, instead of taking his hand, he puts it through his body. Obito remembers Naruto's words, about what being Hokage means, and says he won't be over his comrades. He is back to his old self, and avoids Madara's attempt to obtain the Rinnegan with the space time ninjutsu. Then, he pulls away part of the Bijuus, casually a piece of the Hachibi and the Ichibi (the only two tailed beasts chakra that Naruto didn't receive). He orders Kakashi to send Naruto to the other dimension, so with kamui, Sakura and her unconcious partner are sent there over the sand cloud. Obito tries to go there, but Madara stops him, so he realizes that the speed of the ninjutsu is not fast enough. At the other dimension, the sand cloud falls (after losing connection with Gaara), so Sakura and Naruto fall too. She is relieved to be safe, thinking that Madara could have killed her anytime, he is at another level of power. At the real dimension, Obito and Kakashi know that this time they have work together. And so a series of flashbacks (filler) begins. Obito is shown as a five year old kid, living with his grandmother. He spent time with Rin, and other friends. Is shown the beginning of the rivalry with Kakashi, the moment Obito met Sakumo Hatake, until the time he realized Kakashi's father died. The flashbacks were decent enough, to show the real background of the little Obito, who was raised by his grandmother. The moments of rivalry were somehow mirrored with Naruto and Sasuke, so that part was repetitive. Nothing new. What was good was the interactions between Obito and his grandmother, like when he asked her how his parents were, what he got from them. There were shown also new moments with Rin, as if they were friends since that age. Looks like she knew where he lived, and Obito's grandmother knew her. In some ways, the flashbacks were nice, warm, despite the repeated issues of rivalry. Is better to show these past moments than overused characters like Orochimaru, Karin, Suigetsu or Kabuto. About the rest, Obito extracting parts of the two Bijuus that Naruto couldn't meet on the subconcious world of the jinchurikis, was too convenient. I don't like where this is going. And considering Obito should be dead, I cannot understand or buy how is possible for him to overpower Black Zetsu, for all the reasons I gave before. The attack from Kakashi, Gaara, and Minato was a nice try, but useless. At this point, Sakura is right, Madara is at another level, and they must be thankful they're alive. Kishimoto made a mistake by extending the story this far. I said it before, there were unnecesary chapters. He should have planned a way to stop Madara by this point. Naruto should be awake already. To finish, I want to highlight a few details. Was nice to see that despite everything, Sakura never left Naruto's side, not for one moment (that is love). If Madara killed her, which was something she feared, she would have died protecting Naruto, right next to him. Obviously, she is supposedly helping his heart to pump blood. Yet even at the other dimension, she should keep with the mouth-to-mouth breathing since Naruto is not in a hospital. He needs air. Details are always important. Then, it's curious how Kishimoto mirrored situations with Karin-Sasuke, Sakura-Naruto. After the Kage Summit, Karin had to heal the unconcious Sasuke alone in the other dimension. And in the moment when both guys were losing their lives, Kishimoto also mirrored Sakura and Karin's reactions. I wonder which were his intentions.
