Overall The Get Down experiment did not work for Netflix. Sure, there were some good moments, a song here and there wasn't bad, but they never had any clear direction. This episode was full of haze, fluff, drug hallucinations and all out nonsense.
In the end they didn't even focus on a clear point. They rushed Zeke's acceptance letter and did not exactly build up the tension between a long distance romance with Mylene. They both seemed way too content and it made for awkward television.
I made it through the show, but this was a bit of a mess.
