Alone in a Crowd

Edgar has just won a sales contest at work, Before he gets home, his in-laws have spent the hypothetical money and his wife has decided where they will spend the vacation time that comes with it, as Edgar continues on in his long-suffering ways.

Besides the series regulars, Charlie Hall has a fine bit as a pugnacious auto mechanic in this typically amusing entry in Kennedy's COMMON MAN series from RKO. It ran from 1933 through his death in 1948 and Jack Rice often played his obnoxious brother-in-law, as here. Billy Franey and Vivien Oakland join Edgar. The series was a haven for old-time silent performers; ex-director George Jeske and producer Clem Beauchamp add their names to the list of credits.
