A stripped down version of the 'banishment room' in the 'Traitors' franchise. 9 people competed for £5000.
2 were 'traitors' and lied about their jobs, life etc. The others were 'citizens' ('faithfuls'!)and were always truthful. As in the current show if the traitors were eliminated the faithful shared the money, but if any were left they took it all.
At the start everyone introduced themselves, then blindfolds were put on and the traitors silently revealed them selves. The audience were warned this was happening so they could "play along at home" and the presenter was also unaware.
The came progressed with players talking about each others lives until someone wanted to make an 'accusation'. This differs slightly to the present version. The accused had a chance to defend themselves and then a vote was taken, players holding a board saying 'traitor' or 'citizen'. If a majority voted traitor the accused was eliminated, but if a majority voted citizen they remained and the accuser had to leave.
After two eliminations a ' murder' took place. Players had to put on a blindfold, the traitor(s) then silently removed theirs and pointed at their victim , who was then eliminated. Again viewers were warned about this if they didn't want to know who the traitors.
This carried on until either both traitors were revealed or only 2 people remained, again like the new version.
In the episode on You Tube one traitor is discovered straight away but the other remained until the last two people and so took all the money.
Only 5 episodes were made so obviously it did not prove popular enough to commission more series, but its nevertheless interesting and I would recommend any 'Traitors ' fans , of which there are millions, to seek it out.
