Thomas Rhett Akins and his high school sweetheart, wife Lauren Akins, are quite possibly the cutest couple in country music. Remember his bid for Acm new artist of the year when he made a video of their love story? Or their romantic, Pda-filled video for “Die a Happy Man“? Or — oh yeah — when he won Single of the Year at Wednesday night’s CMAs, planted a sweet smooch on her and declared from the stage, “My lovely wife, she was the full inspiration for the song?” We could go on.

But in addition to being ridiculously adorable together, they’re also incredibly stylish.

Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, the 2016 American Country Countdown Awards brought some serious heat to the airwaves on Sunday night (May 1).

Performers like Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Martina McBride, Brooks & Dunn, Florida Georgia Line and Dan + Shay all took the stage during the course of the event, while presenters like Matthew McConaughey, Paula Abdul and Terry Crews handed out trophies.
