- This may very well be one of the most violent episodes of Gravity Falls to date.
- Animal heads ooze out blood from their mouths and eye sockets while saying "ancient sins" over and over again.
- The back story of the main villain in the episode features him getting swept away in a landslide. While holding on for his life, his axe then gets shot into the air and stabs him in the head killing him ( offscreen).

- Dipper gets turned completely into wood. The reason this is scary is because this is a callback to the episode "Into the Bunker" where a creature shows what Dipper will look like when he dies. He is in the exact stance as when he gets turned into wood, so viewers may believe that Dipper might be dead.
- In the first half of the episode, Dipper and Pacifica are running away from an angry ghost.
