Definitely a problem if you don't know Chinese

The movie opens with a man, Wen Chiang-Long, kneeling in front of an official. Guards in weird costumes threaten him. The official then awakens from his dream. He rushes to find Wen Chiang-Long practicing martial arts and is relieved. After this is about five minutes of dialog.

My copy is a digital file that plays on a HDTV in 4:3 format with Chinese audio and no subtitles. There is also a wide screen version with Chinese only at a movie website "YouKu". I have watched many movies without understanding the language. Sometimes it is easy and sometimes it is impossible. Currently, translation software is not at the point it is useful in this situation. I found it impossible to figure out what was going on in this movie without the dialog. Usually I don't review a movie when this happens and try to find an English version but here that is not going to happen.

The action is average for 1975. There is a variety to the fights as we have hand to hand, various weapons, and some comedy added to a fight. The story includes horror elements and dark humor. Overall, it did not have enough action. I rate this as low average for the year and genre and cannot recommend it to other fans unless you can cross the language barrier/.
