Pretty good

Warning: Spoilers
I thought it was a funny episode, but wanted to comment about lower reviews.

Don't watch satire if you don't know what the word means. They've always had a balance of satire and stupid, and this episode leans more to one side.

It's not justifying bullying, it's pointing out the irony in people who champion PC culture, which was the whole point. Cartman being scared/shamed into silence, the physical violence, the use of the word bigot (Which means intolerant of people with differing opinions.)

I don't understand how that's lost on people who claim to be die hard fans.

Also, South Park makes fun of everyone. Don't get upset when it is "your thing," that's fairly hypocritical.

Best episode in a while!

Warning: Spoilers
The season premier was a great return to form from the get go. The first scene had me laughing continuously and i loved the reference to previous shows; especially the city wok guy. Even though I'm from the UK and may not know everything about American Football, I was aware of the Tom Brady incident etc. To be honest the only criticism I would give of this episode is the strong American Football references but apart from that I enjoyed this episode massively. The best episodes of South Park are definitely the ones with all the good characters in school and this episode was no different. We saw some characters which we haven't seen in a while including the recently talked about Jared. However what I loved about this episode the most was how on point they were about lefty's who are way too PC. I have been thinking this for a while and finally someone has said it, as well about Caitlin Jenner and how to be honest she isn't a nice person at all and just because she has done something which is inspiring, doesn't mean we all have to love her.

Anyway, overall this episode was fantastic and i fully enjoyed it from start to finish and I cannot wait for the next episode even though I doubt they can top this episode. 9/10

Another South Park success!
muringanij5 December 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was a brilliant start to a long anticipated season without a doubt. I'm a hardcore fan and I was not disappointed. The political satire is turned up a few notches and I couldn't help snicker at the attack on the Overly PC group.

I'm seeing a lot of hate for the new character PC Principal because he is honestly quite obnoxious but I think that's the point here people. This over-the-top PC stuff can be extremely annoying and SP has made us feel that quite expertly.

Eric Cartman is literally beaten to submission and that was so uncomfortable to watch because No one beats Cartman at anything! Again that was the point I think. That the in-your-face PC people will (figuratively) beat you to a pulp if you even try to oppose or debate their views.

Kyle is targeted as a main opponent of *insert ridiculous PC mini speech here* and in the end he relents in order to stop the fighting. My jaw dropped at this. I could not believe what was happening. But as a die hard fan I know that that feeling invoked in me was intended. I know that this will not end well for the PC group because this is South Park.

If you find yourself thoroughly annoyed by PC Principal and more than a little upset and confused by the time the episode ends, then it was a success. Trey Parker is telling a story here. Be patient and watch it unfold. I want to see more of PC Prinicpal, he is ridiculous and annoying and I'm pretty sure he will fall spectacularly.

Work of art
Quentinen_Tarintine26 May 2023
I'm rewatching Southpark and this episode is one of the best right up there with Black Friday, Trapped in the closet, Fishsticks etc. There are a lot of episodes that Matt and Trey do just because they find it funny and probably 90% of the world won't relate to but this isnt one of them.

This episode is brilliant and the introduction of PC principal is epic. We also have a Randy side act which always makes for an epic episode. If you read some of the reviews from 2015 a few people seem to feel they went overboard and it was an overreaction. But the theme of the episode stands true to this day and probably for the next couple of years. This isn't just an American issue either and it can resonate with people all across the world.

Apart from making a point this episode is just simply funny and has a few of best of scenes of the series.

Brutally funny tasteless mocking of progressive left
imdb2-530 May 2020
This is certainly not an episode for the easily offended. Some of the humor is rather extreme but it does represent the absurd backward thinking that is surrounded the entire Caitlyn Jenner episode in this modern era. Where he she ultimately ended up is actually a testament to the absurd accuracy of this episode. Watching this episode is even more shockingly accurate in light of the justification of mass looting and rioting to supposedly protest the actions of four police officers who were arrested and being prosecuted.

Not off to a great start
soccerin10217 September 2015
Warning: Spoilers
The season 19 premier was not that great. The PC principal outstayed his welcome fast and I hope that I don't see him in the next episode. The Caitlyn Jenner and Jared jokes where pretty funny and the bathroom seen was really funny. I wished that randy had more screen time and I hope the next episode will be better.

Maby they can tackle Donald trump or do an episode about coon and friends since they are making another game. This episode may not be the worst on my list but it isn't that great either, I hope that South Park stops the whole connecting episodes thing because that did not work out, and I really don't want to see another PC principle episode.

Not Sure What to Make of It...
justinboggan20 September 2015
Warning: Spoilers
HEAVY SPOILERS.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't get why NOW this episode happened. American has been dealing with increasingly higher and higher levels of PC since shortly after the Islamic radical terrorist attacks on 9/11. The last few years under Obama alone has had it shoved in our faces every months like a big floppy wiener. So why NOW, when we could start to reverse the trend a year from now by taking a baby step and elect somebody like Ted Cruz, is the show finally addressing it (and then saying it'll be around for a few years)?

And what is up with PC Principal? Why in the world was he not gone by the end of the episode? He was good for one episode. Two, I think I'd be annoyed as hell.

There's something weird about the whole episode, like we don't have all the pieces and/or maybe things will be cleared up in future episodes. But there was no on-screen indication that was what was going to happen.

I remember when a "South Park" season premiere was a big deal. Now after the last three season, I'm understandably and justifiable prepared to be let down (while hoping this time will be different).

I'm not sure what it us about this episode that was so standard. It can't be the re-treading of ideas -- SP has done that before with success. Just five or so years ago, this episode could have been done in such a way it would have been epic.

Missed the mark
ma02rc27 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Please read before you rate it as not helpful, I've seen a lot of valid criticisms of this episode being downvoted.

I've been watching South Park since Season 1, and so far, this is the only one I've seen that I just don't consider to be all that great.

To start, I get that South Park is meant to be offensive to everyone - left, right, black, white, etc. - and have over the top incredibly dark humor. I've laughed at some of the most insulting and terrible things on this show - even episodes that are intended to insult and ridicule groups I belong to. The satirical portrayals of current events / celebrities / groups aren't lost on me.

But I can't even really call this satire because it's satirizing something that doesn't really exist - it's just attacking a straw man. It's less of a mockery of an extreme of a group and more about creating a make believe extreme just for some cheap laughs - a make believe extreme that if it does exist, would be an incredibly tiny minority that really doesn't need an entire episode dedicated toward ridiculing it, especially at the expense of the rest of a group.

Like actually, outside of videos on the internet, when was the last time you've been shut down for not being PC? The worst I've ever had was somebody just saying what I said wasn't cool and that was the extent of it.

Part of what makes South Park great is that it could actually spark some conversation about differing views on political subject matters, but with this episode you can't really have that conversation because it makes false assumptions about one side. You can't have a healthy dialogue with someone when you just go in with the assumption that they are going to act like P. C. Principal.

The humor isn't all that great either. It just really falls flat and is more obnoxious and embarrassing than anything. I guess the jabs at Tom Brady / NFL and the bathroom scene was slightly amusing.

Maybe my biases are getting in the way of an objective review. I'm willing to admit that it could have. I'm sure there are many that will disagree with the points I've raised, and I could only hope they are met with well-reasoned arguments as well. I may not have enjoyed this episode in particular but I'm sure there are those out there that do. So, to conclude I'd really only recommend this episode to those who take issue with political correctness of any type.

Seriously you guys... worst ep ever.
fthurston-2942417 September 2015
Warning: Spoilers
OK so I did write an entire synopsis but then was ruled out with too many words so Ill just shorten this and tell you what I thought.

This was without-a-shred-of-doubt. the single-handedly worst episode of south park I have ever seen in my entire life (and I do love this show!)

The whole PC thing was way over the top, and despite south parks satirical humour or whatever you call it, this was just dumb because it went totally against what south park is.

Apparently the principal is there to stay??? Um, well he better be going soon and south park better go back to what it was or as a host from a certain show likes to say 'You are the weakest link' and this is me saying 'goodbye!'

Seriously everything from all those detentions for nothing to Eric being all PC to the stupid college dudes was just crap. But don't even get me started on the scene with PC Principal physically assaulting Eric, that was bang out of order.

I don't know what Matt and Trey were thinking (maybe they drank coffee while writing this ep, rather than drinking booze) but either way this had better stop because it is creating an injustice to all those hard- core fans like myself and changing it for the worse!

Shockingly bad season start
elerion-7869218 September 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Matt and Trey needed almost a year to come up with this anticipated episode, but unfortunately it is by far the worst one ever! In this episode a group of characters are introduced that want to change South Park to make it politically correct, and protagonists of the show after short period of disagreement all agree with them.

I'm not wasting much time on this review, because this episode is just not worth it, and in my opinion puts a large smear to 20 years of work on this show. I still hope that the next episode will give this shockingly bad season start some meaning. Otherwise we have to come to terms that the authors after 18 seasons are washed out, and not able to produce entertainment that was expected from South Park series any more.

On the other hand, I give 9 to CG and audio production. So much better then the previous ones. Cartmans injuries CG and PC's microphone speech audio really gave me goosebumps. If it was in 3D it would definitely be 10/10. Unfortunately it's not Avatar so even that would not help the apparent lack of originality.

Oh... as for spoilers, Eric Cartman turns "cissy", gets beaten up, and not only that he does not retaliate, he agrees with his tormentors.

The death of funny.
anythingbutthatoldone11 January 2019
Just bad. I haven't watched this show in about ten years. Then I went back and binged starting from season 1. It all remained funny, topical and entertaining up until this season. The next two seasons have not improved, and I have zero interest in wasting anymore time finding out. This show has run it's course.
