English classical style movie.
dan-ilya3 August 2019
Simple story line, instant well predictable ending. Most actors don't bother to actually act (Ella-Rae Smith, Fabienne Piolini-Castle, and Alhaji Fofana actually did a good job). Home made visual effects. Only watch this if you like 60's style cinema.

Danger of Death
nogodnomasters20 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This is the story of three school kids not named Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Tim (Harry Jarvis) does graffiti with a stencil. While on a school trip, Tim goes into a machine which claims he has two hours to live and he makes a quick bucket list his friends help him keep.

The is a British film. It includes an uneven brother-sister relationship that heals. Not sure about the slug looking, Monty. Not really explained. Kids film.

slapstic grange hill overload
Rob-O-Cop4 August 2019
A D minus effort, very much cheesy British tv fair from the 80s, the baddies were annoying, most of the dialog was mind numbing, and the kids were like a hang over from the 80s, fake rebellion and wishful outsiders, probably written by some old f@rt longing for their lost youth. This is well below standard for movies these days, although the locations were nice and low level london street scenes, and some of the actors did the best with what they were given, which wasn't much. Ella-Rae Smith did really well in particular. Actually, some of em were pretty bad.

Terrible film
garethreeves-9431725 August 2018
It's like a bad kids TV show, it's aspires to low budget. Bad on all levels. If you are five and have never seen a a film or TV programme you will love this, everyone else give it a miss.

Really !!!
svader26 July 2019
Didn't understand the basics of this movie. The lead character is in his 20's and looks 30 dressed up as a schoolboy. The accents and the way they speak sounds as though they are making a bad attempt at auditions for Oliver.

Terrible movie. I wouldn't let my children watch it as it's dumb. Wasn't even funny.

Pretty good if you ask me
documentaryreynolds4 August 2019
If you're over the age of 12 then I'll stick my neck out and suggest that this film is not for you. I saw this with my two kids (aged 8 & 10) and they loved it. They haven't stopped going on about that matchbox creature. For me, it reminded me of the films I saw when I was a kid - it's not a Marvel film nor a Harry Potter by any stretch but a low budget film aimed at a young audience. If you've got kids under 12 then I'd say give a go - they will love it. Bye-bye.

So... What actually was that thing in the box?
S_Soma25 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
My best guess is that 2:HRS is targeted squarely at whatever the British equivalent of American junior high school students would be. There's no overt denigration intended; it's just that it's themes and plot line and action-notes are unequivocally youth-targeted. In fact so much so that adults might have a bit of difficulty enjoying it.

As examples, themes and subject matter include: kissing your first girl, operating a motorcycle for the first time, outmaneuvering an evil scientist, a clique of friends carefully calculated to cover nearly every common locale-specific ethnic variant and character stereotype in only 3 characters, "bumbling" henchmen reeking of a Laurel and Hardy patina easily outmaneuvered by clever and "with it" teenagers and performing various pratfalls and face plants, family dynamic problems and coming-of-age-issues driven by the early loss of the dad, vacillation between victimizing and maudlin sentiment over a little sister, "painful" morality lessons learned through experience-driven "hardships" during the course of the movie, and blah blah blah on and on and on.

Basically, apply a youth-issue-themed stereotypes cookie-cutter and stamp stamp stamp. One youth movie while you wait.

2:HRS "controversial" content tops out with spray paint tagging and then dilutes even that with implication that the main character's motivations are genuinely artistic even to the point of disparaging the "art" in an art gallery so that the main character can tag over it and obviously improve it. Even the so-called artist whose work gets tagged over tacitly confirms the greater value of the tag by upping the associated price tag for the piece by tens of thousands of dollars. Why, it wasn't clear vandalism... it was altruistic civil improvement.

Did I enjoy 2:HRS? Not in the least. It was far too simplistic, banal and predictable for me. Which doesn't actually say anything because I am so far out of its target audience that my lack of enjoyment of it is all but irrelevant.

So why did I give it an 8/10 stars? Because I rate movies on a relative scale tied directly to how close a movie came to being the movie it intended to be. 2:HRS is a juvenile movie featuring exclusively juvenile themes intended for a juvenile audience with decidedly juvenile tastes. Almost certainly this is exactly the movie that 2:HRS intended to be. Its not it's fault that I never should've watched it. Therefore, by my system, 8/10 even if it did bring up my lunch. Completely subjective I know, but there you have it.

Sci-fi teen fun film for families
littlenorthernlight11 December 2018
High concept British comedy sci-fi film with gorgeous teen cast, set to be stars of the future. They are a terrific team on screen and so watchable.

Great music and a snappy script from Roland Moore take us through an enjoyable ride with some really surprisingly heart touching moment.

Cameo roles of faces known and others rising make this an easy to enjoy family film, connecting predominantly with young teens but charming all ages.

pretty good...
ops-5253522 January 2022
Low cost family entertaining teeny weeny comedy, also severely animal friendly so let fuss and pipp have a look too. Love british actors when with good pronounciation and 'earable diction, funny story in a way of moviemaking thats dying out, namely the crank and prank comedy. Grumpy old man recommends.

Good to see positive female role models!
b-576724 August 2019
I was so happy to let my youngest watch this and see positive female characters in a kids film for a change. All 3 of the female leading characters are strong roles and not confined to being the 'girlfriend' like so many other films do. My youngest is 9 and she loved it!

A good old fashioned British comedy
kevin-h-boyd6 August 2018
So refreshing to find a family movie that is British and not a cartoon! I watched this in a cinema packed with kids and they where laughing and cheering all the way through as Tim figured out how to spend the last 2 hours of his life. Tim's father has died and has left him hurt and confused about what is important in his life. When he discovers the Vitaltron, built by a suitably batty scientist (Siobhan Redmond), it's a chance for him to work out who he wants to spend the last 2 Hours of his life with. Also loved the twist at the end...

A rare gem for all the Family
LenoirPictures23 August 2018
2 Hours is a really enjoyable ride from start to finish. Its rare to see an independent film with such convincing and likeable lead actors especially from teenagers and it is an endearing and charming family film that anyone can enjoy. The production values are also really good and the production design and sets are really fantastic.

I had the pleasure of seeing this in a cinema and the whole audience was engaged and laughing, it really brought people together as the genre should.

Great film to watch, and the producers Di and Andromeda have done a fantastic job bringing it all together.

SciFi morality play
homemadephilip4 December 2018
All stops are pulled out for this glorious teenage romp. There is a certain innocence about this movie which put me in mind of the charm of Bill Forsyth's "Gregory's Girl" from back in 1980. It has style pace and an interesting plot which causes in one a taking stock of life's priorities. I look forward to seeing more movies from Mr Newton.
