Although the voice acting is on point, the singing is badly out of tune, and the song itself is half baked. Although Rebecca sugar does have decent chops at creating a nostalgic chord progression and melody, this song seems like an ai trying to recreate her style.

The simple fact that steven couldn't do one thing sent him into a giant spiral of self doubt that does not fit with his happy go lucky young self in most issues. Maybe if this became a growing problem over a longer span of time, this would be more believable.
I also notice that the writers are unsure whether or not Greg should be a bad father. He is characterized at the beginning as lazy and a moocher on his son. But as he is caught faking his broken leg, he seems like a sentimental father who just wanted to spend time with his son. This doesn't match with his character, and the sincerity in which the line is delivered doesn't match either.
