Was The Episode Bad, or Finn regaining his arm to early bad?
camiacono-531172 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I love Adventure Time it's one of my favorite Cartoons ever, but I will say it's not Perfect. A lot of criticism for this Episode is that Finn gets his Arm back too early, and a longer arc dealing with his emotion after the ordeal with his father and his loss limb. True but we already got an arc for him With his Break up with Flame Princess with episodes like Love Games & Dungeon Train. And the episode The Tower & The Visitor show's us Finn just moves on from the fact that his Father isn't a hero like him and instead of focusing on meaningless revenge and matures. Also when he does get his Arm back we see their is a Thorn on it indicating That their more to this arm than meets the eye. It's not like Finn to just mope around, And Giving the Fact their was going to be a T. V Movie that would have been like the 3 Mini-series we got later, However for the T. V movie had complications in Production and was compressed into the Episode Something Big. So I can understand Fans Calling BS over the New Arm but Just honestly this just one Botch plot-line isn't enough to ruin such a Great show. Breezy more so just pushed the stone into motion for the Finn-sword, Grass-Sword fusion that was the Character Fern. And As for the Episode itself it's good, a Bee helps Finn get his groove back into the dating scene, and tries to see if they can be more than Friends. Like I said It's better not to have Finn moping about.

Wow that is quite the double entendre

Warning: Spoilers
I can't be the only one seeing this. This entire story is a double entendre.

Bee is attracted to a specific body part on Finn and encourages him to make out with inumerous women to provide that body part health? That body part grows and bursts when Finn sees his crush Bubblegum? Did you know the flower is the sexual organ of a plant? What a strange episode. Especially with the bee being flustered and tuning Finn out when looking at the flower. Almost as incredulous is the inclusion of LSP sex.

Gotta say I'm completely blindsided by this episode and I don't consider the them very serious. Probably not gonna watch it again lol.

There could be a good message here, but it is lost out of focus
FairlyAnonymous9 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of those awkward episodes where it is hard to tell if the episode is alluding to more adult content or if your own mind is just messed up.

In this episode Finn's flower is starting to wilt because he doesn't feel anything. This is pretty realistic in his reaction. However, Finn thinks that making out with as many people as he can will make his flower happy (see where this could be... er... misinterpreted). This is an interesting message because it shows how his quest to make himself happy by being as active as possible with as many ladies doesn't bring him true happiness...

A bee follows him around on his journeys and tries to help him make out with the ladies, but the bee secretly just wants his to touch his... er... flower... yeah, it makes sense for a bee but it is still weird. She is obsessed with getting close to him to touch his flower. She even begins to love him and changes herself to save him, but Finn ends up rejecting her. Even afterwards, Finn still continues on his quest. Eventually he... listens to the bee sing and his flower gets happy and grows into his arm... not really explained.

The big problems with this episode are mainly around its message. If the makers wanted to show that what Finn was doing was wrong then they should've made Breezy (the bee) a counter to Finn. Breezy should've been trying to guide Finn. However, Breezy basically says "Make out with whoever you want and whenever when you are young, just as long as I can have your flower." This doesn't really teach a productive message. Even worse, his flower being healed isn't resolved by him seeing a fault in his ways.

Finn NEVER LEARNS. His arm is magically healed, but he never had to LEARN that his selfish ways were wrong. The episode is basically saying "DO WHATEVER YOU WANT AND THINGS WILL WORK THEMSELVES OUT" which is a pretty stupid moral. To make things WORSE, Finns arm is completely healed. This goes against all of the prophecies in the last SEVERAL SEASONS that Finn would get a robot arm. Heck, we even see that Rattleballs HAS FINN'S ROBOT ARM! The whole last two seasons have been building up to Finn gaining a mechanical arm and losing something, however, his arm just grows back after only a couple of episode. No robot arm... ever.

So in this episode: Finn never learns to correct his selfish behavior because being a jerk is okay AND he gets his arm back without having to really suffer through it which thus crushes the significance of the last two seasons.

Really, this episode just messes up.
