Phoebe's attempt to organise a summit meeting between the Braxtons and Barretts is kind of stillborn by the fact that the most important player isn't in the episode, which is a shame because it's not actually a bad idea.It does however mean that Kyle is pressed into service to offer Josh some reassurance, a bonding moment that unfortunately is witnessed by Andy.Although there's a vague attempt to add depth to his character with the suggestion that he's struggling with being the odd one out among the new Barrett clan, the character still isn't very likable and when he wants to leave town at the end it's hard not to hope he goes.
Meanwhile, Chris and Denny's relationship goes up a gear but Denny's use of the L word frustratingly scares Chris off.At the same time, Chris decides to throw a spanner into John and Marilyn's relationship, although Marilyn's doing a good job of that herself with her jumping to conclusions about a half-heard phone conversation.
