very good example of using a simple story and technical stuff

This short film is directed and produced by Jennifer Mesich in 2014 and is released by Canadian Reflections on 2015. It's about two friends Florence and Monica who are trying to find their soulmates with a crazy way. They hit good looking young men who are selected to become a perfect soulmate by their car and then come in as a savior and get connected with them. But every single time Florence finds something in them and avoid to call them.

The story which is written by Director herself and Bonnie Fairweather is quite a surprising story, A brilliant idea to make a short film and she developed this idea to a conflicting story at the end which comes to a good short film. They have a good production value, cinematography and acting are good and fitted to the story. Customs and locations are in a way that you can imagine the characters in the best way it can be. There is no extra description about characters and you will find out facts through the story when conflicts happen. Lightings and makeups are really good as well as their nice and smooth music which helps to stay in the story world. The ending itself was a top choice, the story turned another way of audience expectations and in the last scene, their stupid game comes to a romantic result. The camera seems to be hand-held and it keeps following characters in some shots which are actually not bad. Some little pieces of the footage look too wide but The film has a good and easy to follow editing with a good choice of SFX. After all, Hit men is not an unbelievably great short film but it is a very good example of using a simple story and technical stuff and probably low budget with some connections with good actors to make a good looking film. After Hit men, Mesich got two credits as Exclusive Assistant which is not really a position to consider her in the crew but in 2017 she got a Production Manager position in a documentary film called "The Skyjacker's Tale" written and directed by Jamie Kastner that is looking to be a good one and will be released on June 30th. Hit men is her last produced film and it seems she found her way to Hollywood now as there is some news about her working with big production companies in Hollywood.
