While hardly an admirer of his work, I can see why Brit Porn director Kendo carved a name for himself a decade ago with his fetish videos that developed an immediately identifiable style. But "The Dancer", consisting of five sex vignettes connected by a topless (and busty for the art form) ballet dancer cavorting becomes tedious as do his scores of other nearly identical ruminations on the same fetish material.
The color red is important to Kendo, played off of grey or black and white backdrops as he pilots his aloof porn players through their mechanical positions. As usual there's no dialog, merely sex workers in attractive gear deigning to hump each other, almost under protest. Kendo drains the emotion out of his scenes, substituting the grunting and groaning (learned in Porno Boot Camp 101) as ersatz passion for his loyal viewership.
Valerie Summer is always a sight for sore eyes, but the cast is downplayed here, no one else making the slightest impression. With his dreamy montages and pretetentious imagery, Mr. K (Ken Docherty) is merely navel gazing while the porn loyalists gazes at femme navels.
