MPAA Rated R for violence and language

Sex & Nudity

  • Suggestive dancing at a club scene. Man and woman kiss at the front door and go inside kissing. Man and woman hug and kiss in the kitchen.

Violence & Gore

  • Moderate R-level violence. People are shot and killed, some in cold blood, with various amounts of blood seen in most killings.
  • A woman is seen with burns/scars on one side of her face.
  • A woman sees her 18-year-old son lying on a table in a hospital, fighting for his life after he's been shot in a drive-by. A good amount of blood is seen on his face and body, and he later dies.
  • A house is blown up, killing a number of people inside. Nothing graphic is seen.


  • Typical R-level language, with "fuck" and its derivatives scattered throughout, but not used constantly. Other milder language (shit, asshole, hell, etc.)

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A woman is seen taking pills (presumably antidepressants or another psychiatric drug) after her son dies.
  • The plot involves drug dealers, but no drugs or drug use are seen.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • This film has a dark undertone, with the heavy theme of losing a child to violence. Some intense/suspenseful scenes as Lila and Eve track down those related to Lila's son's murder.
  • The twist could be unsettling for some.
