Love Christine Feehan
vickycoleen20008 November 2013
I have read all of Ms Feehans currently published books and the "Dark" series has always been my favorite. I am thrilled to be able to watch the "Before the Dark" videos. They allow viewers to put faces to characters, to see expressions, mannerisms, etc. They are such a plus to go along with the book series. They also have given us information hinted about in the books and have filled in blanks as to what had happened in the story line before the time-line started with "Dark Prince". I have greatly enjoyed the look into the past. I would highly recommend them to all readers of the books, and if you haven't read the books - now is a good time to start!

I truly enjoy that this web series has been created for Christine's fans. Personally, I enjoy getting more insight into Vladimir and Sarantha and their time. I have enjoyed each of the books in the Dark Series to date and it's nice to have a peek into the history before the time of Mikhail and the all the characters we, Christine's fans have come to know & love. This web series gives us more history and more characters and a better understanding of what has led to the turmoil that the Carpathians face and I like being able to have access to the web series through Christine's website and her Facebook page. Having the web series available on multiple sites makes it easier for all her fans to keep up with the series and its origins.

Before The Dark

Warning: Spoilers
Christine Feehan has done it again not with just righting the well known Dark Series but has started a pre-series that are for viewing only. Vladimir Dubrinsky, a Carpathian, is the Prince of his people who has the gift of Premonition. Being of the earth and being the prince of his people gives him certain obligations. To save his race he must find the Lycan seer, Catalina and vice versa. This is a wonderful prelude to her Dark series. I give it a 10 out of 10. If you are looking for a world of action and the unknown then this is the series for you. There is love, vampires, shape-shifting, Lycans, new races are introduced, and many more exciting things. This mini-series will keep you on your toes. The world of mystery will be there keeping you in suspense and asking for more.

Before The Dark

Huge fan of Christine Feehan's Dark Series. The Before The Dark webisodes is a prequel to the series and was very exciting because we were able to meet characters that we've heard so much about. The actors are doing a fantastic job. John Wells as Price Vladimir Dubrinsky nails it. John speaks with his eyes and body language before we even hear him speak. Nate Merritt as Roman Daratrazonoff as the second in command and best friend of Prince Vlad was spot on. Roman's job is to protect his Prince at all cost. I was waiting for Roman/Nate to say at anytime, " Protect the Prince and kill them all and let God sort them out". The ladies held their own also. Amanda playing Sarantha as the worried lifemate and the mother concern with her son's health. Sheila English and her crew did a great job in putting this webisodes together for Christine's fans. Looking forward to the next webisode. Thank you.

Amazing!
bgladsto678 November 2013
The video series sheds new light on her book series, and I believe the Queen has done it again! Kudos to all who are involved!

The books are wonderful and stand alone very well, but with this history behind the series it brings it to life again.

The time I have spent reading, and re-reading, the series was in my opinion, time well spent. Now I will take the time to re-read the books.

Thank you so much for all the time spent, both on the books and on the videos, your devotion to your fans is unmatched!

Signed with love and gratitude

Beverly, Granted lifemate of Byron and Josef(Wishes he would get his book soon :D )

Good concept; Bad quality
Evil_Angel4208 November 2013
I would have to say that I like the fact that things are finally going to be explained. I just want to say that the actual videos themselves aren't done in the best of quality in my opinion, it seems more like a reality show than a TV series...even a mini one. There are some things that could be done a lot better (again in my opinion) the way they talk seems much more fictional than it should be, it should be like the books...draws you in so much that you can't stop reading (or watching in this case.) I applaud Christine Feehan for making it this far, I have been wanting to see the dark series, and the Ghostwalker series turned into some kind of show or movie and this is the first step...I just wish whoever did it paid a lot more attention to quality. I still rate it a 9/10 though. Go watch for yourself and see what you think.

good but would of loved to see dark challenge as a TV/movie
lovebean8420 March 2014
I did like this episode but I would have liked to see dark challenge as a movie or dark gold or dark fire. If a producer would take the time to read Christine's books they would see that the graphics in her books would memorize people all over the world an have more fans th twilight. I wouldn't be able to stop watching them especially Julian's story. These books are what true love is about. Please any popular producer get a hold of her books an make this come to life!!!! Maybe Tim Burton could use his creative art work to transform this or the producer that did wolf man or underworld. Any producer, especially resident evil. People would be lining up to see it especially those who know an read her books.

Before the Dark by Christine Feehan
shpaint8 November 2013
I look forward to a new episode and will watch it time and time again. I love that Christine Feehan is sharing her stories with us in the form of digital media and can say that Before the Dark will not disappoint any one that views it. I love meeting the characters that came before the Carpathian Prince and being able to see them play out the story live. Christine is my favorite author and I crave anything new she releases. Her stories are everything that I would want from and Author and more. I have read and viewed everything she has put out there and spend time frequently on her website. Thank you Christine for all you do!!!

World of the Carpathians comes to life
barth-manuela9 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
The storyline of this miniseries is placed in the Carpathian Mountains when (one of)the Turk wars took place before the parents of the actual book heroes were killed and explains some basics regarding to the book storyline of the books no. #24-26. With a low budget Christine Feehan, Sheila English and her crew put together with the actors, the situation, the feelings, the concern of Prince Vladimir to his people and his family. The Carpathians come to life and you feel with them you are with them back in time. The uncertainty of the time is noticeable, as is the love between Sarantha and Vladimir, as well as Roman Daratrazanoff's concern for his Prince and people. The scenes shown during the visions make it clear that neither Vladimir nor Catalina (Lycan seer)receive, a full image of the future and therefore future actions will be influenced. You have the feeling that the actors have actually read all the books in the Dark series, to make it clear what is happening at this time in the world of the Carpathians and Lycans.

Warning: Spoilers
Loving the web episodes.

Love all of Christine Feehan's Dark Series books.

Would love to see a mini series or movie made out of the characters.

My favorites are the Dark Fire, Dark Celebration, Dark Prince, Dark Destiny.

Love that the web episodes show before so that I have that to go with my history of the books.

Currently can't wait for the Dark Wolf book to come out.

Also love the Lair of the Lion, Wild Rain, Burning Wild & Wild Fire books that Christine Feehan has written.

Keep the books coming!! Thanks!!

An Amazing World
la22998 November 2013
Christine Feehan has written a series that is complicated, but straightforward one of the best paranormal series' that began the recent fascination with paranormal books/movies/characters. Her writing tears you out of your world, and takes you to a world where there are true heroes and bad guys, couples you can admire and want to learn more about, and lovers that make you believe that (in spite of the world you live in...) love is really possible. All of her books should be turned into movies. This series starts before the time that the books start, and the couple you meet are the parents of the couple you meet in the books. If you find this series interesting...head to the store and pick up Dark Prince....you won't be disappointed.

The Carpathian world comes to life
phantomslady698 November 2013
After years of reading about Mikhail and his people, we finally get to put faces to them. It begins with with Mikahil's father, Prince Vladimir and his visions a future that are just now coming to pass centuries later. The actors chosen to portray our beloved Carpathians are nothing short of amazing. John Wells embodies the role of Vladimir. The emotions and concerns of a Prince trying to save his people, The heartbreak of a mother on a mission to save her son, the determination of one man to protect his Prince at all cost, will send you on an emotional roller-coaster that will leave you screaming for the next episode.

On the fence?
hannyc_20048 November 2013
I was so excited when the first "episode" was available on FB. Being a fan of the book series I was ready to see how it all began! After viewing it I am not certain if I am excited or disappointed. More like on the fence at this point...I think.

The acting was okay though not extremely horrible. What really grabbed my attention was what seemed to be more modern language used rather than "Old World". I thought the language should reflect the time period to make it more believable.

In the end I think I'll watch more episodes of the coming series, if only to get a taste of how things the past set things up for the future.

On a side note...the actor playing Vlad....*drool* Oh, yeah.

Exceptional mini series.
wolflover28 November 2013
An awesome show and answers so much for all the author's books. John Wells plays the lead superbly. He is what you would think Vladamir would act and look like. It is very riveting and keeps you glued to the computer. Would like the episodes to be longer and maybe a little more detailed like a movie. But since this was only put on for the small screen it is good. Hopefully they will bring into play his other son and daughter. I'm hoping they explain what happens to the oldest son and how Vladamir makes the difficult decision. I'm very interested in how the lycan clan comes into play and will they eventually band together or why they are so at odds with each other.

Good show
maw-lisa8 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
These mini clips of Christine Feehan's novel are great. It finally gives people a chance to see characters they've read about for years. As most of the books concern Mikhail's 'generation' of Carpathians, it is good to see the story of his parents - Vlad and Sarantha - being used for this mini series. If I had to pick a fault, it's that they are too short. You just settle into it and it's almost over. I hope these are going to be used as an opening for a TV series based on the books because it has just been too long coming. If any networks are looking for a new project, this is for you! The number of characters spread through the books would provide plenty of scope.

Great series!
lainazmom8 November 2013
This series is the prequel to the amazing Dark series by author Christine Feehan. It gives the readers a view of the Carpathian princes' father and the events that establish the book series. In this TV mini-drama we get to meet Vladimir and his lifemate. Vladimir has the ability to see the future and we get a glimpse of this gift and the horror that can accompany it. This series shows how Vladimir must use his visions to try and create security for the Carpathian people as well as his family. This series is beautifully created and executed. A must see for all Feehan fans as well as anyone who enjoys a great story with amazing characters!

What a gift!
shanahollis18 November 2013
Very excited about this!!! Christine Feehan is one of my top two favorite authors & she does not disappoint. This "mini series" is based on her most popular book series the "Dark Series", which is one out of about five. I have read this book series which contains about twenty five books, most of them twice, and feel as though this "mini series" is a gift; yet another way she continues the magic and keeps us all coming back for more. So far in this "mini series" we are getting a glimpse into the past; more detailed information on the back story and it's information that is relevant to the newest "Dark Series" book out which is part of a trilogy. I can't wait to see what's coming next and I hope it not only continues but develops into more! I would love to see episodes for her other incredible book series: Ghost Walkers, Sea Haven (1 & 2), and the Leopard Series. So far, LOVE IT!!!

I Love it
burnes-florence8 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Finally after hearing His son talk about him and his oldest warriors speak of him we get to have a glimpse in to Why the decisions were made and why things had to be the way they are. It is interesting to see the lycans were friends even back in Prince Vlad's time. I have watched both I gave it a 9 because it needs to be longer I want 30 min segments (that would be great) but I'm glad to have any of it. I think they have the perfect actor to play Vlad in this web series. I remember that Machial had to kill his own brother but now it shows some of why that was necessary. I would like to see their take on a vampire just from the description it sounds really gross. I can not wit for the next one.

Before the Dark
dhoward119 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Just imagine, you lived thousands of years ago and you are responsible for a race of people that no one knows exist. Vladimir Dubrinsky is such a man. His race is slowly dying out and he fears that a seer of another race is the answer to their survival. He dreams of her and has a need to find just who she is; what she knows and maybe how she can help him to save his people. This is a race of people that sleeps by day and walks the night. They are not the vampire but are the hunters of those that has chosen to give up their souls and become vampires. If you have never read one of Christine Feehan's books on vampires now is the time to do so her books are very fast paced and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I recommend all of her books as keepers. This is a wonderful series.

Before the Dark
trulana8 November 2013
From what I've seen of the webisodes, I absolutely love the series. Its great to put actual faces to the characters you envision from the books and to get a feel for how much Mikhail's parents had to go through and the path that led him to where he was from the beginning of the book series.

The acting is very realistic and pulls you in to the problem the Carpathians are facing. The cast fits in with how I believe they would look from the descriptions given in the book series, and it's very rare when that happens.

All in all Christine Feehan has struck gold not only with the book series but also in the Before the Dark webisodes that have been created so far. Can't wait til the next one.

Awesome Gift
dmckesson2229 November 2013
This prequel to the acclaimed Dark series, written by author Christine Feehan, is a fantastic gift to her fans. This episode begins the series with Prince Vlad Dubrinski, played by John Wells and his life-mate Sarantha Dubrinski, played by Amanda Miller. John and Amanda's performance was compelling as we are given a snapshot of Prince Vlad and Sarantha's life during the Turk wars. We are finally able to view the insurmountable challenges this couple faced with their son, vampires and an encroaching war. This prequel is a short video made for the web, not a big budget film or television series. It's perfect for the medium where it's shown. Besides, it is a gift. How can anyone complain about a gift. I am thankful for this gift and give Chritine Feehan and Sheila English a big shout out and heartfelt thank you.

Can not begin to say how much I loved Before the Dark. It is so totally awesome to see Christine Feehan's Dark characters brought to life. Being a fan of her Dark series, I have always thought it would be so cool to see the books made into a movie. The actors in this are wonderful and I really enjoyed watching them and felt they truly depicted what the characters would be like. The story was exciting and fun to watch. I found myself totally absorbed by the actors and the storyline. John Wells was wonderful in this and fit the role of Vladimir Dubrinsky very well. I found him to be exactly as I would picture the character. This is an exciting and well done mini series. I enjoyed this show tremendously and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves Christine Feehan's Carpathian characters.

A Lovely Gift
queensher8 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This series of videos is a lovely gift from author Christine Feehan to her readers of the the Dark Carpathian series. All those who are fans of Ms. Feehan, and read the series will appreciate these little movies. The series takes place before Mikhail met his Raven, before the great war, that scattered the Carpathians, and set adrift the Lost children. Readers have only captured a glimpse of Mikhail's parents in 'Dark Possession'. With these movies, or visual novellas, the fans get to see some of what occurred before 'Dark Prince' hit the shelves. I have already seen the first two in this series, looking forward to the rest. Keep em coming, Ms. Feehan, keep em coming. :)

Intrigue
butterflyrose0699 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
In a world of growing secrets, vampire hunts, wars, and family problems, Before the Dark brings it brought to life.

With all who are familiar and well read with Christine Feehan's Dark series, we all know what happens after the Turk wars with the lives of the Carpathians very different than before the war. Now we get to know as well as understand what conspired before and leading up to after the war.

In this mini series we see unfold the internal struggles Prince Vlad has and decisions he needs to make; we see next in line to be Prince Draven becoming elusive, and shall I say immoral? Personally I cannot wait to discover who the Lycan Seer is, as well as who Draven left to see.
