Hateful path

As good of an ending as we probably could have gotten for this arc.

Was it one of the best in this franchise? Nah, but it added much needed depth to such a minor character who really was just sort of there for events (talking about the Ahsoka and Mandalorian shows). I can't say I didn't really enjoy this character here though. On the contrary, I actually liked her quite a bit. She was a "villain" that you sort of felt for and at least understood her motives.

But it's this episode that we see she's too far gone and so deep in to the Empire and her own hatred to turn back. I honestly feel like this makes her position and character on the live-action stuff much better. And her being in that stuff makes way more sense now.

A solid arc all around.

Let them burn

Warning: Spoilers
The third episode of Morgan Elsbeth's arc shows her just before the events of The Mandalorian season two in which Ahsoka and Din Djarin free the village and Elsbeth has to flee the planet.

Before that happens a new republic ambassador arrived to offer her to join the new republic. She kindly dismisses the offer and kills all of the new republic men. To stress her power she burns down the forest in front of the town. Like her home planet Dathoomir Corvis has to burn.

All in all the Morgan Elsbeth story arc is a fine addition to the Star Wars universe. She had little to none back story before, so this improved her character for sure.

Now to Barriss Offee!

Warning: Spoilers
Good god this arc was boring. We almost never see thematic conflict or thematic struggle between or within characters, stuff just happens and it is not the least bit interesting.

And not to mention stupid. Why is this ambassador lady assuming that a known Imperial war criminal will just cave to like 6 guards? Why does she assume she will be able to reach the ship to make a distress call if she fails? Why does Morgan unnecessarily burn a forest?

There is something interesting in a character who chooses to ignore empathy because they were hurt as a young person and choose only to hurt others as retribution, but we never see Morgan in any real conflict besides slapping some sharp sticks against one another. No conflict, no story. Imagine if this was instead approached with even half the passion of the Spiderverse.
