Not quite the worst you'll see
Leofwine_draca30 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
LOON is yet another indie horror based around a creepy legendary killer who dons a clown mask before taking down his victims. The principal characters are a brother and sister who decide to head off to an abandoned fairground attraction to investigate said legend, only to find themselves on the run from the psycho. It's very low rent and cheesy, but a little better made than I was expecting. There are flashbacks and attempts at proper story structure that gives this a little more depth than most rival efforts. It's better than the CAMP BLOOD sequels for sure.

Loon: A Missed Opportunity
tedsaldarrs20 November 2020
Brandon Tobatto's low-budget indie slasher flick features a type of antagonist rarely seen in Hollywood. A clown. It even features statistics from a study, stating how many children find clowns scary in the beginning of the movie.

However, the film does not use this to its advantage, and instead tells the unoriginal, unexciting standard "kids in woods get picked off one by one" story.

On top of that, the dialogue is poorly written, the lines are horrendously delivered, and the kills are bland and unexciting.

Failing to deliver any true terror, Loon is a choppy, undershot missed opportunity.

Loon: What a mess
Platypuschow6 April 2019
Loon is a hyper low budget independent slasher movie, and a truly unconditionally dire one at that.

It tells the standard story of a bunch of kids who go somewhere bad and get picked off one by one. Simple right? But movies tend to at least throw something in there to distance themselves from others, a gimmick, an interesting antagonist, something! Loon doesn't, we have a dude in a clown mask with a sad backstory who I was actually rooting for.

Awful kills, cheap appearance, dreadful acting, poor sound balance, everything is just so very very terrible.

Devoid of any redeeming features this is a demonstration of embarrassing proportions.

The Good:

Nope

The Bad:

Some unforgivable levels of amateurishness

Dreadful acting

Ticks absolutely no boxes

No Budget . No Thrills , No Fun
Theo Robertson28 April 2015
Yet another horror film that's been released with zero publicity . LOON has an intriguing premise not often used in horror and that is the fear of clowns ! Don't laugh because a lot of people have told me the most terrifying thing they thought of when they were children was clowns . No doubt there's big word describing the correct term for this phobia and now I come to think of it I can understand where they're coming . Clowns have unexpressive faces and in human communication body language and facial expression is much more important than is given credit for . There's a potential market for this type of film and asked myself why Brandon Tabatto;s movie remains unknown . Clicking on the Release Date link I found that Brandon Tobatto's film is in fact an internet movie . Oh dear

Well there's two ways of looking at this . The first is something along the lines of well done Brandon you're an inspiration to us all and to be fair it's nowhere as bad as HOOLIGANS AT WAR another zero budget movie that has the unwanted accolade of the worst British film I've seen in a very long time if not ever . LOON probably doesn't get my worst American film I've seen recently booby prize but because it's an internet movie it's amateur and flawed on literally every level . The story is a steal from those Friday The 13th films with a masked murderer stalking some adolescents who have been idiotic to go party in nearby woods . The unoriginal screenplay is the least worst thing about LOON . The cast are universally bad with Tara Moates being the only stand out and only because she's very cute looking but thespian wise she also gives the same sort of painfully distracting wooden performances where no matter what happens to who they sound as they're reading out a shopping list . On top of that we've got completely static camera work and disjointed editing on both a visual and audio level .

Nice try Brandon and I hope you and you're friends had fun making this but it's not fun to watch

Small budget film
estradajake4 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
For a small budget film, it packs a punch. The movie is about Charlie Graves, a local guy who is known to be troubled by the locals. He is a legend to most people, and the ones that do know even warn the kids not to go to the one hang out in the film. Of course this being a horror film, the kids don't listen and they running into the abandon area without a care.

Slowly they get picked off.

Being this is a small budget film there isn't a lot of gore, but the scares are there and the people do die.

I was impressed once I learned that this film was made for a $100 dollars. I've seen movies made for millions of dollars and have a lot of goofs in it. Mistakes and other crazy things happen.

I have seen some of the complaints where people say they spotted a mistake here and there, but it is no biggie as this was a very small budget. Ultimately it came out great. My hat off to Brandon Tobatto for a film well made. I see him growing as a director.

Amazing! I compliment the style of this movie! It reminded me of the 90's horror

This is one of my favorite movies! Was this made from a haunted house? This is delightful! I don't know what to say about this movie except WOW! Good luck in your future production gentlemen! It has the best old school horror and Throwing the kids in there and doing a before and after was a splendid idea! What type of camera do you have? By the quality, I personally would be forced to thing a Cannon Rebel T3I or maybe a T4I. I did a research on your name "Brandon Tobatto", and found out you run a 5-star haunted house called "Merritt Island Terror Nights", and I did a search on YouTube and am thinking of flying to Florida for this event. You have a splendid day.

I would recommend it to anyone who likes REALLY campy horror films
jonsmountain4 June 2015
I have no objections to this movie. It was an entertaining watch. I personally love campy horror movies, so this is right up my alley. The acting is awkward, the budget is non-existent, and I love it. Obviously, many people have problems with incredibly low-budget movies that suffer in the visual department, so don't bother with it if you are one of those people. But as far as the story, there is a fair amount of exposition that allows the watcher to know the background of the killer, and the overall plot makes sense. It's directed by Brandon Tobatto. If you don't know who that is, you should do a little bit of research. He's probably best known for his rap group which is called "Boo Clan." Now stop reading this and go watch Loon :)
