Warning: Spoilers
This is "Dead Space: Chase to Death" and it is a live action short film from 2013, a fan-made movie by Eric Zaragoza that scored half a million views since its upload on Youtube five years ago, not necessarily viral, but not too shabby either. It is based on a video game and you will find the name of said game here in the title. I must say I don't know the game, so it probably helps of you do and then you could enjoy this little film even more. By the way, it only runs for 3.5 minutes, at least the version I watched and I think that is the original, don't know if there is an extended one out there anywhere. But yeah seems like crowdfunding has not worked out for this one to be turned into a full feature film. I think it is probably close to Zaragoza's heart looking at how it is his first work. But it seems unlikely with how long itÄs been since the release. Now for the film itself, visually there's nothing wrong with it. The corridors look claustrophobic somehow, the outfits is very nice, especially the helmet. The plot twist at the end is not too shabby either, but overall, it was just too much style over substance for me to stay really interested. So I think you may want to skip the watch here unless you love sci-fi and the game, then go for it. But yeah, it should never be a condition that you know the game in order to enjoy a movie and this is pretty much the case here, especially for the first 2 minutes. Watch something else instead.

I wonder why they never did a full length feature of this game adaptation.

This short video was really good too.
