Italian porn director Antonio Adamo made some classic features back in the day, but generally he is a terrible filmmaker, wasting endless resources that most of his competitors would die for, just in the service of cranking out mindless Euro sludge.
I counted over 40 crew members in the end credits - compare with skeleton crews for most porn shoots then and now. The result is at best a travelogue with some attractive locations (end scenes are set on a yacht at sea for attractive backdrops when in fact only the XXX happenings in the foreground are of interest to the target audience) and generic sex.
Blond in question is named "Jini J", and pleasant enough interviewed in the DVD's BTS short subject, so I was surprised to see IMDb correct her stage name to "Sweet Brunette". How's that for a generic moniker, especially applied to someone in a blonde role?
The plot revolves around her warring with a competitor, both magnates in the porn industry. George Uhl as the heavy is the only cast member comfortable with the English language, who made a name for himself as Caesar in Adamo's hit trilogy "Roma", also for the daring! Media label. Contrast in quality between those films and "Crazy About the Blond" is immense.
The plotting when the Euro cast isn't humping is awful, involving a hit man and some reversals of fortune that are ineptly conceived and played. Perhaps Adamo's unrequited destiny would have been to work for Penthouse's Bob Guccione, who set the standard for amateur porn filmmaking on the most lavish of levels with his backing (and interference) of Tinto Brass's epic "Caligula".
