I enjoyed very much this journey : beautiful landscapes (the Spizberg, Longyearbyen, the coal mines, the mass in the open air, the ghost town of Pyramiden, the station of Lonsdal,the railway track in the forest and the train on the bridge) and nice encounters.
I enjoyed the encounters of Philippe with the Protestant priest (the cozy church, the rifle as protection against the bears, the mass in the open air, the picnic with sausages) , with Johan, the warden of Pyramiden (the treaty with the Soviet Union, the good working conditions for the Soviet coal miners, the mine and its railway, th showcase,), with the station master in Lonsdal-Luonosvagge (the cup of coffee), with the knitting women in the train (a strong tradition in Noirway, boys and girls learn knitting in the primary school) and with the man of "Namsen Salmon & Train Experience (the bicycle onn the railway track, the sleeping cars and dining car for the fishermen-an unique experience-): very nice encounters with very kind Norwegian men and women.
