brief encounter

It's a beatiful movie with the melancholy coldness of Eastern Europe combined with the Nordic neurotic atmosphere, an exquisite and gorgeous version of "Before sunrise" and the more subtle version "Her". The unfamiliar languages played a romantic and mysterious role in the movie, fantastic plot.

Generous array of wonderful and touching moments.

Fantastic film. "Dual" is intelligent , witty, gorgeous, quirky and real. It's about two strangers (Iben and Tina) meeting and wandering through a beautiful Old World city, sharing and experiencing the night together, whose paths could lead them anywhere. This movie is so realistic that you almost feel like you're eavesdropping. The dialogue is intelligently written, but it's the acting and the delivery of such realistic conversation between two people that makes this movie exceptional. Iben and Tina's personalities are so layered and rich. It's a beautiful film with a generous array of wonderful and touching moments.

Facing transience of the impermanence characteristic of nature
Airwish-mirog18 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The main actresses portray very well the typical character and behavioral patterns of young people of different nationalities.

This is not a love story, but rather reaches higher, to the service of man to man in his search for freedom and meaning. That's how nature works too, the dying supports (new) life. Nature sustain life. The film is therefore a very realistic representation of the impermanence characteristic of nature.

The film does a good job of showing that even young people need help, which they don't always find in this world.

Caught in the grip of family depression, Tina hopes and clings to life, while Iben painfully learns the reality of transience. They both face transience, with the difference that Tina is hopeful because she has time, and Iben time is not her friend.
