She's back, and the show is back on form.

Agnes is suffering with a touch of insomnia, the house has gone to ruin, and she's struggling to get through to The Doctor's surgery, Grandad also needs a Doctor, as he hasn't been to the loo for three days.

It's been some time since we've had a full on series, and I think it's fair to say the last few Christmas specials haven't exactly been classic comedy, but this first episode of the new run was a hoot.

Maybe not having the constraints of needing it to be a Christmas episode helped, no need for the tree failure, and no need for the musical number, this was like the show's early years.

Plenty of funny moments, loved the mix up with the herbal medication, and Father Damian's chocolate eclairs, grandad ans the blowpipe though, I was creased, hilarious.

I can actually sympathise with Agnes, as my own sleep is diabolical at the moment.

Let's hope the rest of the series is this good.

8/10.

Great Episode!

After last years odd Christmas special that upset alot of viewers, I had a brief thought that maybe they'd take the show off the rails down a unrecoverable rabbit hole. Not only was it a great show, but we get 3 more and the specials this year! This episode went back to the typical Agnes and family ups and downs fun with a bit of a be kind message. Most of the usual faces were back, but still missing ''Rory'' and ''Dino'', and wondering if ''Trevor'' will be coming back after the off-camera life changes. While the show isn't everyone's cup-o-tea, fans should be pleased to see the return to fun episode.

Miserable Mammy

It has been around for years and this is only the fourth series of Mrs Brown's Boys. Since the previous series in 2013, the sitcom has only had special editions.

In essence this is just a mini series of just three episodes. Brendan O'Carroll planned to make this series a few years back but Covid got in the way.

He has also drafted in Paddy Houlihan as co-writer for this series.

It opens with Mrs Brown down in the dumps. She feels lethargic, the house in a mess and her family is using the house as a storage unit.

None of her sons are willing to cheer her up or gosh, do some housework. Only her daughter in law makes an attempt to brighten Mrs Brown up by using social media.

A mild return to form for a sitcom past its prime. The best laughs were due to grandad's constipation trouble.

A tad funny, but also a tad disappointing.

I laughed at a couple parts in this episode but that's about it. I feel bad rating this new episode a 4/10, but my line of ratings aren't like other people's ratings. For me, a good rating starts at 4-8/10. Never have I ever rated anything higher than 8/10 cause there isn't anything worth a rating that high. I also find it odd that how reviewers say her 1st series wasn't good or her movie, I haven't watched them yet but I feel I can trust their judgment. How can her 2011 series, the start of it, like the 1st 20 some episodes be so hysterical, that I have to concentrate not peeing my pants! It's very peculiar.
