Mediocre for a Lego animation
Snootz24 November 2023
The first Lego super hero animation I saw was terrific. It was witty, funny, had a great script and was very well done. This one... not so much. It's not witty, not charming, just very mediocre. The upside was the relationship between Black Widow and her father, which is a decent enough morality story for kids. But it's a long story for one point: everyone is imperfect, and everyone changes. Thanks for that sparkling wisdom, but it doesn't equate to the foundation for an entire film.

What stood out to me most of all in this entire film is how odd Lego character heads look without a hat or hair. They have this "chimney" coming out the top of their heads. When that oddity stands out more than the film itself, that's not an indication they made a good movie. Kids might like it, but I'm thinking even they would only watch it once.

So not funny, not witty, not Lego. Three bricks short of a finished project.

Warning: Spoilers
I don't know why I'm writing a review for this short animation, but it's one of the worst things I've seen lately.

First of all, they should urgently stop making these bad characters play these pranks because it's very shallow, bland, and forced. Also, the Natasha-Red Guardian (dad-girl) relationship and Avengers team relationship also very bad. Can't emotions be portrayed any more realistically? Another bad aspect was the Collector's motivation; it's hardly believable how bad it was. The animations also seemed unfinished in some places; I remember from Lego Movie that it doesn't get this bad usually, but it was especially bad in this one. Everyone having a shield was strange and meaningless. And the worst part was the Collector's defeat; it was bad that he suddenly got angry and was defeated.

Even for children's content, a little more attention should be paid to the script because when we grow up, we learn these characters from these shows, and in this short film, most of the characters were portrayed incorrectly. The only good thing was the voice acting; I really liked the voice acting.
