Panic and Chaos
claudio_carvalho4 January 2015
Alice provokes an accident due to the lack of insulin and a truck hits the water town of Chester's Mills. When Barbie and Sheriff Linda Esquivel go to the lake, they find it polluted. When the residents discover the problem, panic and chaos rule the town. Angie flees from Junior and hides inside Rose's restaurant; however two punks kill Rose and hit Angie. Meanwhile Julie and Doddee are trying to find the source that is jamming the communication in the town while Norrie and Joe are seeking insulin for Alice. Surprisingly Julie and Doddee discover that the power source is coming from Norrie and Joe. Big Jim proposes a deal to Angie,

In "The Endless Thirst", Chester's Mills will never be the same after the riot caused by panic with pillage by the mob. The dome seems to provide what the population need, increasing the mystery. My vote is seven.

Warning: Spoilers
One issue I always had with Under the dome is the character inconsistency. In the previous episode Angie had an earlier chance to run, but instead she chose to cuddle with Junior? Sure, at the time they both thought they were going to die but you're still going to cuddle up with your captor? The same guy you so desperately wanted to get away from just a few seconds ago? Also, Linda is just handing out badges like they're candy. She doesn't even know who barbie is really. She already gave one to junior who's a nutcase. Also after the truck hits the water tower, Carolyn tells linda that joe and norri got there just in time. Just in time for what? To keep the driver from getting more wet? It's also annoying how no matter where angie runs she always ends up somewhere near junior. And how is it that she runs into a whole crowd of people and doesn't immediately cry for help? Instead she runs to a secluded place with an elderly woman? The townspeople are rioting and fighting and some are even murdering and then, out of nowhere, it starts to rain and everyone is immediately friendly again? It's also strange how people are holding their buckets above their heads instead of just setting them on ground. Some episodes of under the dome are good but then there are some that make no sense at all.

"Still smooth as a baby's butt."
david-klompas28 March 2016
This episode of the hit TV mini-series based on a Stephen King Novel follows the trend set by its predecessors. It's racy, intriguing and evident of potential, yet not developed enough to establish the show among the TV major-league.

After a passionate kiss during the missile hit, Joe and Norrie face the untouched dome with many of the townsfolk gathered around. Everybody is concerned: if a missile left the thing "smooth as a baby's but", then how will anybody ever get out? Meanwhile, Barbie & Jill share a moment that begins to establish a romantic connection between them, Junior goes on a manhunt for Angie, and riots break out across the CBD of Chester's Mill.

'The Endless Thirst' succeeds in establishing a real sense of foreboding as the town falls into complete disarray. Director Kari Skogland, of Fifty Dead Men Walking (2008) fame, is evidently well equipped to convey such chaos with the sense of foreboding that comes through on screen. She also directed 'Outbreak' (episode 4), and it is easy to see why she was chosen to direct the events of Chester's Mill's sixth day underneath the dome.

Mike Vogel (Barbie) gives a good performance, along with the alluring charm that Dean Norris brings to the show as 'Big Jim'. One never really knows what will be up Big Jim's sly and two-faced sleeve until he makes his move. If you pick up this series for no other reason than to see Norris tease out some great performances, then that will be reason enough.

While not completely satisfying, episode 1.6 of Under The Dome is worth watching for anybody who enjoys some soapy mellow-drama. Luckily, the development seen up until this point would suggest that this series matures with age.

Directing: 7/10||Cinematography: 5/10||Acting: 6/10||Overall: 6/10

Warning: Spoilers
I'm enjoying this TV show its really worth a watch, nothing award winning but a good watch non the less. however this episode is very bad, as a diabetic i can tell that they did no research at all! this diabetic woman that is superposed to be a Dr is going to die if she doesn't get some insulin immediately. well i can tell you that if i only ate sugar to keep my levels okay i could easily survive with out insulin for months not hours!

A Bump in the Road
taylorjsmith272 August 2013
Against my best judgment, I am a fan of this show. It is entertaining and fun enough of a watch. On this particular episode though, the writing hit a very low point. I felt like I was watching a made Lifetime movie that wasn't good enough to make it on Lifetime. I am really hoping that the writers get rid of the two mothers. I have nothing against them having a gay couple on the show. I have a lot against them having two of the worst characters that drag down the show immensely, every time they open their mouths or even enter a scene. I hope this episode is just a bump in the road for an otherwise entertaining, albeit silly, show.
