This is probably the one time you're not gonna hear me fully upset with this show for an episode. I don't wanna say I completely love this episode as a pair, but there is one episode in this pairing I love, and that's extremely rare for modern Loud House. It might be a stretch, but when my friend and I watched this, we both gave it a high rating, and we mostly have the same opinions for episode ratings.
Candy Crushed is that episode in question I've been praising. I love this episode, it's now one of my favorites. This episode goes back to an old habit of Lola's seen in episode such as No Spoilers (looking at you, Force of Habits), this episode goes back to it and expands on it. It went in an unexpected direction, as these plots usually have plots along the lines of the main character cheating and lying. Well, not this time!
In this episode, she is very dedicated to not eating candy, which shows how much she's grown as a character seen in others like Read Aloud. The ending I'll admit was a little predictable the second Lola said she was going on a field trip, but the fact that there was a song in it proves the writers found it special in someway. Kinda like episodes such as The Magic Hour from Brandy & Mr. Whiskers, even if it's predictable, if you enjoyed yourself it can still turn out to be one of the best darn tootin things.
Weird to say, but I think this is one of the best modern episodes, I'm probably the only person saying that... but I don't care. This episode is about my favorite character with a plot I'm honestly surprised it took them this long to do. Literally out of nowhere Randy Orton style this episode came and went like it was nothing. It was a great start to my summer (despite seeing this episode at 2 am on a Google Drive when first watching).
I don't really know what else to say, it's in this description pretty much. 10/10.
Master of Delusion is really bad on the other hand. This episode was such a disappointment. My bias towards The Magic Hour is gonna try not to creep in and influence my rating. This episode takes a ton of idiotic scenarios and mashes them all together. What do I mean? The fact that so much happens all in 11 minutes. Usually that would be a good thing, but it isn't in this scenario. Especially Lincoln who's the nuthead he's always been. HE'S NOT CUTE, PEOPLE ON TWITTER!!
The gang of Lincoln's friends is really annoying and the rest of the episode was very bad. It takes me back to the awful season 5 episodes where the entire plot is "Lincoln and friends do thing X only to result in thing Y". I'm getting so tired of this, no one cares anymore. We all kinda just want the other characters or more realistic episodes like it's sister episode. Yeah, it has moving gummy bears but it's better than teleportation or time travel... looking at you The Mad Scientist.
This episode was a step in the right direction for Lincoln's tricks and I wouldn't say it's complete garbage, it had some moments like the cool animation and whatever but it mostly left a sour taste in my mouth due to how... weird it is. 3/10.
