Hilarious

Warning: Spoilers
The other reviews complain but never actually say what's wrong. This two-part episode was hilarious. It's topical and political, so we all know exactly why they didn't like it. Oh, well. Watch it if you can laugh at politics and even current events.

The second story, which is all about Chris Griffin (Seth Green) trying to find an extracurricular club and winds up working on porn with the principal, his hilarious. "PUT THAT CIGARETTE OUT!!! Kids are going to be watching this!" tells you about our society and what it's become.

So, if you lean right politically and think Putin is a victim, you probably won't care for this episode. If you're sane, you will enjoy it.

I long for the humor of earlier seasons
jbluetooth16 May 2023
I liked the principal's office scene, but other than that, the episode was indeed predictable. I was expecting more from a season finale. I hope the writers can look to the first 5 seasons for inspiration. This season has had very little cutaways. Very narrative driven.

Maybe it's because the show has a new audience coming in and the writers can't make the same references that were made in the earlier seasons (like some older actors). The past 4 seasons have been the worst so far.

This episode showed the direction the show has been on for the past several years. Non-escapism. I don't want to be reminded of the Ukraine war. I get the episode is trying to make fun of Russian culture, but it doesn't allow you to forget the world for 22 minutes because it's something so negative that the writers are incorporating.

Maybe it wouldn't hurt to another crossover episode, (IE American Dad or Bob's Burgers). Make more references to jokes made in previous seasons. Bring back some characters we haven't seen in a long time (IE Jasper, Mort, Neil, Trisha, Ollie, Kevin, Bertram, Bruce, etc). Maybe add more black characters or do more episodes with the Brown family, since they tried and failed miserably with the Cleveland Show.

Awful Finale
skaterryan128 May 2023
I know this show has been on for over two decades and that the show has clearly declined, but man was this is an awful finale. After a season that has shockingly been pretty decent for the most part, they really fumbled with these last two episodes. I knew having a Meg centered finale wouldn't be the best, but I was hoping for something a little more. Peter barely made an appearance and I don't recall ever seeing Brian in this episode. Family Guy just doesn't have that same hard hitting comedy that it once had years ago. I'm hoping that next season can be better, but with the writers strike in full swing I'm not sure what we can expect.

Season Finale
bobcobb3018 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Family Guy is not nearly as good as it once was, not as bad as it was a few years ago, but I miss the days when the storylines felt enjoyable and eventful. Remember when a down on his luck Brian was directing pornos in California? That was a fun storyline, but they were unable to recreate that same magic with Chris in the role here.

I was surprised by the "twist" of the hacker just using Meg (why would he need a green card when he could successfully steal everyone's information anyway?) but that storyline was just weak. I kind of wish we did get Meg still in Russia into next season for a little bit.

This felt like prime Family Guy for a short moment...
backup-5036214 June 2023
How come for the last 6-7 years Family Guy episodes have been so extremely inconsistent? Some episodes (most, actually) are absolute crap, while others (like this one) do show promise, and have peak Family Guy moments, like a showtune that's actually good, jokes that are actually good jokes, not just lame, generic political statements 5 years too late, and, you know - featuring the important, funnier characters.

But then it still also has... exactly that - unfunny jokes, unfunny, generic political statements, cringey lame "internet meme" jokes 5 years too late (like a Karen joke, which was made even by her being voiced by Seth's annoying sister, who voices literally any side female character, to the point of it being insufferable and ultra predictable)...

And the ending of this episode (and in turn, the entire season) was absolute cringe. Like, for real, cringe, making you cringe kind of cringe...

I guess ol' Seth hasn't cared about this show for so long, he lets anyone write for it, and of course, most upper-middle-class writers from the bigger US cities are absolute trash.

But yeah, this episode was good. Especially good, considering this show's track record over the last years. But I'm sure the next season will continue the trend of 19 dumpsterfire episodes and 1 decent one.
