J-Hope finally understands what it’s like to walk in the shoes of his fans. In the behind-the-scenes video for “On the Street,” the song and music video he recorded with his musical idol J. Cole, the BTS member shakes off nerves and buzzes with excitement at the manifestation of his dream collaboration.
“Is this the mind of a fan?” J-Hope asked no one in particular as he penned a thank you letter to the rapper ahead of their day together in New York City, constantly fretting about the quality of his handwriting.

BTS's J-Hope will be enlisting in the Korean military soon, but he's leaving fans (temporarily) with a lot of hope for his music career.
On Feb. 26, Big Hit announced J-Hope's impending enlistment (all able-bodied Korean men between 18 and 28 must serve around two years in South Korea's military), and that same day, the entertainment company also revealed that he'd be leaving fans with a gift in the form of a new single. In a Weverse statement, it said the new single is titled "On the Street" and J-Hope wrote it "to share his candid feelings toward his fans."
The song's title will sound familiar to fans, as it calls back to J-Hope's roots in street dance, "from which his dream to become an artist began." The triple threat also released a series of videos under the moniker over the years, in which he would show off his freestyle dance moves,...

The track, titled “On the Street”, takes a trip down memory lane to J-Hope’s roots as a street dancer. The song title itself references the dance show “Hope On The Street”, created by the rapper in 2015, in which he would film himself performing several solo hip-hop dances, sometimes alongside guests.
The new track finds J-Hope feeling hopeful for the future and grateful for his fans. “For the path I’m on to become one of hope, I give my all,” he insists over a strummed guitar melody and the track’s infectious whistle motif.

j-hope of BTS has unveiled a new solo single, “on the street.” The collaboration between BTS’ dance leader and his longtime idol J. Cole is a cozy, lo-fi addition to j-hope’s discography. Stream it below.
Somewhere between the darker, rock-inspired sound of j-hope’s full-length 2022 solo release, Jack in the Box, and the neon-drenched explosion of his 2018 mixtape Hope World, “on the street” is mellow and hopeful, grounded by an earworm whistle hook. “For the path I’m on to become one of hope, I give my all/ Even my walk was made of your love and your faith/ To repay you from afar, just like a butterfly,” j-hope raps.
The song arrives following the news that j-hope will be the next member of BTS to begin the process to move forward with South Korea’s mandatory military enlistment period. In a press release, he states that this song...

BTS member J-Hope‘s latest single “On the Street” is an ode to his artistic roots, drawing a connection between hip-hop and street dance, according to Hybe. That said, it was only fitting that he recruited J. Cole, one of the genre’s greats, to assist on taking the record to new heights.
The new track opens with dreamy beats as J-Hope’s smooth vocals blend seamlessly from the chorus to J. Cole’s verse. “Every time I work/Every time I run/Every time I move/As always, for us,...

Veteran hard-rock act Extreme have announced their first new studio album in 15 years. The band’s sixth LP overall is appropriately titled Six, and features the just-released raw rocker “Rise” as the first single.
Extreme — featuring Gary Cherone (vocals), Nuno Bettencourt (guitar), Pat Badger (bass), and Kevin Figueiredo (drums) — will release Six on June 9th via earMUSIC.
“Musically, it’s aggressive,” Cherone stated of “Rise.” “Lyrically, it’s a cautionary tale on the rise and fall of fame. You get seduced into it. Once you’re on top, they’ll rip you apart and tear you down. That’s the nature of the beast.”
“When Eddie Van Halen passed, it really hit me,” Bettencourt added. “I’m not going to be the one who will take the throne, but I felt some responsibility to keep guitar playing alive. So, you hear a lot of fire on the record.”
