In the realm of *Alteritats*, the film traverses the intricate landscapes of identity, intertwining the personal with the political in the vibrant and complex context of Catalonia. As the narrative unfolds through candid interviews and observational moments, it is not merely about lesbian identities but rather the constant negotiation of existence within spaces that are at once familiar and alienating. This documentary, co-directed by Alba Cros and Nora Haddad, engages with the lived realities of the LGBTIQ+ community, exploring the layers of their daily lives against a backdrop that is both nurturing and contentious.

I would argue that the film becomes a site of struggle and affirmation. It challenges the viewer to acknowledge the ways in which societal structures articulate the parameters of visibility and speech. The narrative does not simply seek to represent; it endeavors to reconstitute the framework of understanding, asking us to consider who speaks and who is heard in the ongoing discourse on identity and belonging. Through its cinematic discourse, *Alteritats* invites a reevaluation of the normative narratives that often dominate our understanding of community and selfhood, thereby resonating deeply with the ethos of seeking justice through visibility and voice.
