A decent version of a classic tale

Another decent adaptation by Raul Garcia of a classic tale from Edgar Allan Poe, also included in his animated anthology film Extraordinary Tales.

The visual aesthetics are neat, with a very well done atmosphere. I must say the narrator character looks completely different to my personal vision of him, but then again, the text is open to interpretation in that aspect.

While this short is mostly faithful to its source material, the "Mad Trist" romance from the original is omitted here. Personally, I think it's a shame it wasn't included, because at first glance it might seem like said poem doesn't add very much to the plot, in the original tale served to create a slow build-up of tension before the climax, and without it, the resolution felt a bit rushed.

Also, its over-the-top nature would have been something pretty interesting, particularly with the stylish animation featured here.
