A Phenomenal Fireball

Look!... Up in the sky!!... Is it a bird??... Is it a plane??.... Nope. It's a meteor strike!!

Without any fore-warning - On Fri., Feb 15, 2013 - A blazingly bright meteor-fireball streaked, like blinding lightning, across the Siberian sky and exploded about 15 miles above the Earth's surface near the Russian city of Chelyabinsk.

This proved to be the biggest blast of its kind in over 100 years.

Entering the Earth's atmosphere with 20x the explosive power of a nuclear bomb, vivid images of this truly amazing phenomenon from outer space were caught and recorded on numerous cell-phone cameras by dozens of fascinated eye-witnesses who viewed this fantastic event, first-hand.

Professionally presented through the NOVA TV Network - This particular meteor strike excited scientists, everywhere, like never before, as it offered them a wealth of data which allowed them to determine, for the first time, the physical details of an exceptionally large meteor-fireball as this one.
