LA Cityview 35's new "LA City Works," a show about the City's Department of Public Works, launches with a style that has never before been tried by any government organization in the country. Designed to attract and reach out to a younger audience, the show's new "edutainment" format is edgy, zany and "out-there" as it conveys a mish-mash of useful and valuable information to its viewers: a genie and merman are now associated with No Drugs Down the Drain; the merman is also associated with a mission to keep the Santa Monica Bay pollution-free. As the show's hosts - Leopold, Carly, Martin and Dante - take viewers inside, under, and around Los Angeles, they share their own unique personalities through skits and serious interviews. They highlight employees and their hard work. They reach out to personalities on the street in a fun way, capturing amusing interviews and comments.
