Romantic features in the Adult field still have a following, even though quality has fallen off considerably in recent years. This one from 15 years ago is quite good, thanks to the romantic heroine April, paired with an able Randy Spears (on his best behavior) to make a delightful couple.
Melissa Monet's fine script sets the stage for the predictable proceedings that delay the inevitable coupling between the two pals since childhood for nearly a decade after we first encounter them in college. Director Jim Enright maintains a brisk pace between the five sex scenes and makes sure that the characters' behavior is psychologically believable as both protagonists learn life lessons (Spears' failed marriages especially) en route to the satisfying clinch.
