Out of touch and entitled
chunkylefunga11 December 2022
When he was younger I always lived Harry, he seemed the kind or royal that would actually make a pretty decent King, especially as William doesn't have Harry's natural charisma.

Obviously I've never met Harry, so my impression of him is only what we're all forced to see on the news/media outlets and since dating Meghan his public profile has definitely been at an all time low, with Harry seeming out of touch and Meghan a clear gold digger.

But I still watch this with the belief that I'd give them a fair chance to explain their side of events, as like I said I've never met them and so far it's been very one sided by the media.

But my God they're actually much worse than the media makes them out to be.

Meghan is a clear gold digger and so fame hungry it's actually sickening to watch. It's very clear she just wants all the fame and money that comes from being a royal but doesn't want to do any of the work. I actually feel a bit sorry for Harry because he's clearly too naive and simple to see just how little Meghan actually cares for him and just wants all the benefits.

And Meghan is just soo out of touch it's laughable.

This is 0.0001%ers complaining about issues they've brought upon themselves and then expect us normal people to sympathise with them.

Harry really needs a good mate to give him the kick up the arse he really needs and get him to sought his life out.

And the whole race issue they try to force on the viewer is just ridiculous. Imagine trying to spin the UK to be more racism than the USA.

And it's very bizarre that for a Prince who has worn a nazi uniform and used numerous (recorded) racial slurs to try to expect the viewer to think that Harry is open minded and treats all races equally.

Yikes...
TopTenJesus20009 December 2022
I felt so bad for them until watching this. I had to keep leaving the room it's so painful and cringey. Harry seems trapped and like he's trying to force himself to believe what they are saying. She just sounds delusional and self obsessed. This was a huge mistake for them because they wiped away all doubt about their real experiences and now just look sad. If the royal family was worried about this painting them in a poor light well they can rest easy. I actually feel bad for the queen. I'm glad she didn't have to watch because Harry is such an impressive guy and this makes him look horrible. Love makes you do crazy things but this is insane.

Woe is Me
mez3338 December 2022
Look, Harry and Meghan seem like a fairly nice couple and we wish them all the best.

But stop looking for attention and doing these trashy shows if you wanted to be away from the media in the first place!

Stop trashing the royal family. Meghan will never live up to Kate's image and she knows it...why? Because Kate knows how to play the part and be classy. Classy people stay quiet and deal with their issues behind closed doors.

They don't drag everyone else through the dirt in the process. The fact you needed to make this show just proves you don't really have anything to say. Oh do shut up.

Pretty infuriating to watch
fishnet_research8 December 2022
The whole thing just comes across as incredibly disingenuous.

They both moan and complain about not being left alone.... Yet here we are - watching the much hyped series they've mainly hyped all by themselves. You don't get to have it every way you want it, whenever you want it.... or don't want it.

Nor, do you get to milk people's sympathy by using paparazzi footage involving celebs that aren't Harry or Meghan. Look, if you hate the attention so much, stop relentlessly seeking it.

If you want out of the Royal Family, stop using your ex-titles as leverage.

If you want to make your own way, like you keep saying you do, stop talking about yourself and the Royal Family in the same context.

Go and get jobs at Bunnings and struggle like the rest of us. Then you can complain and moan about your lot.

This is one of those slow-motion-crash things - you hate it, but you just can't look away.

Episode 2 is great - she totally disrespects the entire institution of the Royals by mocking them on camera. It's great. Seriously.

I'm not a monarchist in any sense of the word, but I don't like to see lesser people make a mockery of things that are larger than themselves.

Gross.

If I Could Rate 0...
DVK12349 December 2022
If I could rate this 0 out of 10 I would.

I got through the first episode with much effort and with my husband's chastisement. I could not stomach anymore. Just saw a clip of Meghan mockingly recreating her curtsy before the late Queen with Harry watching her; he is incredibly embarrassed but he stays silent like he always does. And to think this trash was going to be aired while the Queen was still alive.

I believe that the public life is difficult. I'm sure Harry has been permanently affected by what he was subjected to as a child, and how he lost his mother due to a car chase by paparazzi.

He has left his royal duties, he has left England. Is he any better off, though, living in America with a woman who wants nothing but fame and attention?

Please, please, please do not indulge these two by watching this garbage.

Just go away already
Shenoa778 December 2022
They claim they don't want to be in the limelight (hence stepping away from their duties w/the royal family) yet, hey let's make a video diary and make a documentary for all to see. If they truly wanted their privacy, they wouldn't have made this. If you're interested in watching two entitled, narcissistic, egotistical, spoiled people cry and complain about their "sacrifices" then this is the documentary for you.

There are actually real people that are suffering in this world, with real-life problems. The focus shouldn't be on these two, honestly.

Here's a brief summary of the documentary: "Poor me, I'm so rich, I'm royalty and grew up in a palace surrounded by servants and diamonds. Feel sorry for me please."

Absolute drivel
reid-175418 December 2022
This is actually quite painful to watch.. the experiences this couple have gone through are just LAUGHABLE.

This series seems to be a complete sympathy drive for themselves and is a complete opinion piece. No self respecting person would have anything to do with this blatantly one sided rubbish. Nothing in this series shows any factual content, and Megan showing herself as so 'wholesome'. What an absolute travesty of a show.

Also, the gall of the director in some scenes.. flashing a picture of Diana while Harry is saying we know the full truth.. wow. I'd rather watch ancient aliens, this is in that category.

Boring, predictable, dull. There is no real story to tell
roxann-17018 December 2022
The actual interviews seem contrived, more banter than actual information. I was looking forward to the juice but it was dry as a biscuit. If you never knew of all the controversy there would be no story to tell. There is literally nothing interesting about these two at all, yet I have always found people inherantly interesting. Only the editing which made it appear more fantastical than it was made it almost enticing, but there was no actual content to match the promos. Just plain dull. The promos made it seem as if there was something really interesting the public never knew, it felt like the joke where you keep waiting for a punch line that never comes. Waste of time.

Utter narcissistic indulgence
tm-sheehan12 December 2022
My Review- Harry and Meghan My Rating 0/10 Apart from the tasteless disrespect to his recently deceased Grandmother barely cold in her grave Harry ( I won't even use his title ) only manages to display a weakness of character not seen since his Great Grand Uncle Edward V111 who abdicated in 1936 and we all know how that ended.

There are many parallels between Harry and Edward , they both married very worldly experienced older American women and as a result of their actions exiled themselves from family and duty to marry the women they loved.

Both men also craved popularity and succeeded until their weaknesses bought them both undone .

Remember Harry's nude Las Vegas romp scandal when aged 27 that sent shockwaves through the Royal family . To his credit he did try and redeem himself with distinguished Army Service and charitable works in Africa .

Then along came Meghan Markle a reasonably successful actress with a family so far removed from Harry's that it was obvious her assimilation to Royal life would be difficult to say the least .

Unlike our own Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark who left her Corporate life in Australia to totally embrace her new home and Royal duties Meghan apart from looking a million dollars just wasn't suited to a life of service and Royal protocol.

That's fine they love each other as we constantly hear in this 3 part Days of Our Lives dreary show and tell saga.

If Harry and Meghan want to be left alone by the same press that hounded his poor mother Diana why haven't they just relocated and pursued whatever life they want .

Instead they seek out Oprah to show and tell all then sign up for this so far 3 part hard done by sob story with glances into their privileged life largely financed by Harry's Royal inheritance.

It's reported that the couples deal with the streaming giant Netflix is to create a slew of content, both educational and entertaining, and Harry & Meghan is merely the tip of the iceberg There is certainly nothing Educational or entertaining in there first effort for Netflix in their deal rumoured to be worth more than USD $100 million (approximately AUD $146 million).

At the conclusion of the 3rd instalment of When Harry met Sally ,sorry Meghan I had only one question .

Why have we had to listen to a diatribe on the horrors of the invasion of the tabloid press into your lives when you really both crave attention and have no wish to be left alone and will sell your secrets to the highest bidder ?

Don't Believe the Low Rating
marymcfarland-018668 December 2022
Any other story, I'd give this a 8. I'm giving it a 10 to offset the unjustified low rating.

This a a good story. It's told from the perspective of those who actually lived through the events. That's the very definition of a documentary. It's interesting, makes you think, makes you cry, invokes some nostalgia....it checks all the boxes very well.

As an American I'll never fully understand the vitriol of the British press or the clear disdain Brit's seem to have with the coupling of Harry and Meghan. As far as the royal family goes, my interest in them is mostly curiosity based. I couldn't care less what they do.

But as far as this documentary goes, even if your interest is passing, it's a good watch. There's a difference between wanting privacy and total media black out. Harry and Meghan didn't request total media black out. They wanted to decide where and when and how they and their family were approached and sold by the media. That is not unreasonable.

As you watch this and consider your rating, think how you might feel if every single thing you ever did for your entire life (even private moments) was photographed and documented in print for 8 billion people to review and critique until the end of time. Also, think how the younger version of you would feel if your mother was killed whilst being chased by aggressive opportunists looking to make a fast buck. Also think how you'd feel if every idiot with a camera was chasing your kids around.

I'm not one to be overly sympathetic to extremely financially priveleged people who live in the public eye...that said, the treatment of Harry and Meghan is totally uncalled for.

I recommend this documentary.

No self awareness and all one sided. Hardly a documentary, more a puff piece
karena-donald8 December 2022
So it's everyone else at fault. Megan and Harry, promoters of wellness and understanding yet everyone else is at fault and she doesn't speak to her own father. Nothing new here but a real reflection of the issue that Harry was accepting of being the spare until Megan thought they both ought to be very important I'm sure there have been obstacles and issues but easy to criticise from a mansion. They are not heads of state and who would listen to them had they not been part of the family they now wish to criticise Why not lead the life of a normal family and stay completely out of sight - please.

Ignorance.
tglosek8 December 2022
Y'all are crazy... talking about how they are narcissists and it's all about them. The documentary is legit called "Harry and Meghan". What else did you think it would be about? These reviews are literally feeding into EVERYTHING discussed in the documentary. It leads me to beg the question if these people even actually watched the documentary.

Anyways, it was insightful to see the "behind the scenes". I enjoyed it. They have always had to hold back their personal life (instagram pics, etc.), so it was enjoyable to see some of their happiness!

As an American, I felt it was also very educational to compare the US paparazzi to the UK's.

C'mon people it's not a 1 star
kerriewillman9 December 2022
This is just another doco. Didn't love or hate. Was interesting. A few eye roll moments but doesn't deserve 1 star. I think all the haters are reviewing. Her backstory was interesting and Harry talking about Diana was heartbreaking.

I think we need less anti Meghan reviews because 1 and 2 star reviews is just plain mean and it is not deserved.

I definitely feel her father was seeing dollar signs and cashing in for sure which is really disgraceful. Her mother seems lovely and honest.

Yes I think Meghan loves the spotlight but I do really think her and Harry have a lot in common and are genuinely in love.

So boring and whiny
kamaya-8084012 December 2022
Couldn't stomach it, had to stop watching. I used to be a Markle fan when she was on Suits but now that I see what a narcissist she is, I can't stand her. They are both so whiny and pathetic, it's so cringe to watch. They seriously think we should feel sorry for them, living in palaces and now mansions and making hundreds of millions. I couldn't believe one of the "persecutions" she had to endure was (gasp) allegedly having to wear BEIGE at royal functions. Oh the horror! And why do their stories keep changing?? There's inconsistencies and outright lies constantly. Do not waste your time watching this!! In fact, go ahead and cancel your Netflix subscription just for the fact they made the poor decision to air this garbage.

Uncomfortable to watch.
Impman29 December 2022
Harry undoubtedly has issues and needs help. How he thinks repeatedly complaining about his family on TV, in books and on social media will help god only knows.

He could be accused of doing it for the money but he is already supported by his daddy so does not need the money.

He indirectly attacks HM Queen Elizabeth and everything the Royal Family stands for but won't give up his title of 'Prince'.

He could ask his father for advice & guidance but he won't talk to his father. He could ask Meghan's father instead but he's not talking to him either.

Someone needs to tell Harry ' when in a hole stop digging '.

Boring!
joegreen168 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I don't care about the royal family and will never care about them. I find them to be privileged people who have wealth for doing nothing that the UK tax payer pays for, but I do know about the Harry and Meghan situation due to it being on the news constantly. So I thought, "Hey, let's give this a go and hear their side of the story."

What a load of rubbish this is by two young, privileged people.

Netflix has basically paid them a fortune to talk about what happens in every family around the world. And from what I've watched so far, most of it is not believable.

If you no longer want to be part of a world-famous family, stop trying to make money from their name, go and live your life in whatever country you like, and bring your kids up to be happy and away from the spotlight. Otherwise, stop complaining about them and go back to robbing the UK tax payers of their hard-earned money.

Honestly, what a boring thing for Netflix to release.

1/10.

Narcissistic snowflake 'poor me' trash
colingingell9 December 2022
What utter trash. Self absorbed poor me junk. Shame on them (and I'm not a royalist).

She really is pulling the strings and uses the 'ethnic' card when it suits (and I am of colour). The only true colour they're interested is the colour of green dollar bills.

I had a lot of respect for Prince Harry but now Harry Markell has the spine of a jelly fish.

The spin-off of course will the backlash of this junk and then the spin-off spin-off bring the demise of their relationship.

Watch out Netflix, they'll blame you prosecute you next for bullying and giving her still water when she asked for sparkling.

She is an actress. So Fake. Do not waste your time
redloveskools9 December 2022
The British Royal Family needs to strip them of their titles. This is so disingenuous. They are continually trying to capitalize on the British Royal Family. Boring. If you want a normal life stop this constant look at us, look who we are.

It's so obvious they need money to keep Harry's lifestyle up so they are writing books doing documentaries, podcasts. It's so desperate feeling. This documentary isn't doing good for anything other then their bank accounts. If they are truly concerned about mental health and other world issues then they wouldn't be doing documentaries to solely benefit their bank accounts and to get even with their British Family and the People of Great Britain This is a hard pass.

Shallow Narrative
ameanand8 December 2022
Paparazzi and their fascination with the royals has been a long-standing one. It's there for a reason that is that people are fascinated by the royals. The whole world knows it. Meghan would have never married Harry if he would have not been a royal? The royalty comes with tempting perks but the royalty also comes with a certain kind of decor and holding tradition. It's a tradeoff, let's not deny that. But she wanted it all, well that does not work. I respect Kate Middleton and Williams they have carried out their duties and not been delicate and fluffy about paparazzi. Diana made the same mistake, didn't she... It had to be in the tabloids that Charles was into Camilla but then the perks of being in the royal family are so luring that you are unable to think about the kind of person you are and how you will fit in.

Ignore the haters, this is a nice doc!
niseynisey8 December 2022
This is a nice look into the lives Harry & Meghan have lived and are living. Not sure why there is so much hate, all the episodes haven't even been released!!!They probably didn't even finish the first episode or even watch the show. Just another example of what the show is trying to say about the blanket hate this poor couple gets.

-

Harry & Meghan is an unprecedented six-part documentary series that explores the span of their relationship, from the early days of the couple's courtship to the challenges and controversies that led them to feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution. The film is directed by two-time Academy Award-nominated and Emmy award-winning director Liz Garbus, who shared what it was like to approach telling a globally discussed love story from a fresh perspective.

Boring Dross !.
jnjtkvsw8 December 2022
Nothing new here. All heard before. So many trials and tribulations in peoples lives these days, and these two self opinionated, self obsorbed people are constantly moaning with their £100 million in the bank. I fell asleep at one point, it was that slow.. even the trailer was fake as the pictures was not from them. Using fake promo videos and pictures to sell the most boring dross ever. Wish I could have rated it a zero . Won't be watching the other 3 shows.. Netflix, you tried to make a profit on the back of Harry and Meghan, fair enough, but the documentary, well is not even that, but it would have been so more interesting if opinions on Both sides was given, and arguments put across. All we have seen here is two peoples opinions which they already have to Oprah without her challenging them. You messed up Netflix.

Why all the hate?
andreagretzschel8 December 2022
All those who gave 1 star simply did not understand. Yes, the two wanted to withdraw from the situations to which they were exposed. And that's what they did. They even say so! The series is about the media within the United Kingdom. It's about hatred against women and it's about racism. And it's shocking and sad how many headlines have been made. And yes, there is an agreement between the royal family and the press. This is also explained in the documentary by Harry. So whoever gives a star here is, to me, part of the problem. Whether you like the two or not, but what was published during their relationship is a no-go. And that's the point. To clarify the rumors and headlines. For this they also have every right!

Frame it correctly and it's not *that* bad...
TD_Diamond9 December 2022
Three episodes in and already a chorus of haters have smashed the series's ratings into the dust.

If you frame this up correctly it isn't actually that bad a presentation.

Good things:
  • They don't really blame the Royal Family for anything as far as I can tell at this point but do lay blame for intrusion squarely on the shoulders of the paparazzi

Not so good things:
  • Activism is pushed but it doesn't delve into what the couple values the most and how that's expressed as public service (assume that'll be in subsequent episodes)

Surprisingly - I actually liked learning about Meghan's background.

Also found Harry to be remarkably lucid and not as spoilt as I would have thought at all. Did not know he'd done ten years service. Thought it was less.

Originally I was going to say that you only need to watch the first half of the first ep and the second half of the third ep so far but actually having put it on in the background I found myself turning around to watch it as it definitely had enough to keep me interested.

As a couple who've probably got every reason to be dysfunctional / screwed up I found them to be more down to earth than I expected.

Yes, there are bits where you roll your eyes but I pretty much roll my eyes at everything anyway so...

Just what i expected it to be, pathetic.
mjbakker-727648 December 2022
In a few simple words: "Oh just shut up", The pathetic need for attention is obvious, leave us alone, we don't want you to focus on us!!!! Said the couple who has their 100 million dollar series now and a couple of million dollars interview with Oprah and of whom the missus wants to get back into cinema and /or series..... Want to act famous? Then the paparazzi will make you famous, want to look stupid, the paparazzi will help you with that too. You don't want to be in the spotlights, then shut up and walk in the shadows, yes the paparazzi will leave you alone. She didn't get to be Cinderella, because he was only the 2nd grade prince and both can't handle how popular and simply great and simply royal William and Kate are. In 5 years these two are out of the picture, simply because they are not interesting and have nothing to offer. He has no charisma without the royal connection or mentioning his mom. She is only a 3rd grade actress who shouts racism (only her grandma was black), while being lighter skinned than the average Italian. Yes i watched it and god it was pathetic.

What were they thinking?
itsarobot9 December 2022
It's hard to grasp what these two parasites were thinking when they made this. If they'd taken two minutes away from their navel-gazing, they'd realize the vast majority of people aren't on board with their narrative.

Was "The Firm" so meanie? Did she not get along with her in-laws? I'm blotting my eyes with hundred dollar bills.

Here are the cold facts:

1. She was welcomed with open arms by the royal family. Now-King Charles walked her down the aisle, for Pete's sake.

2. The British public lined the streets to cheer for her everywhere she went.

3. She had multiple million-pound wedding at no cost to her, courtesy of The Firm.

4. Only one person in her family attended.

I won't get into the climate hypocrisy, it's plain for anyone with a brain cell to see they don't buy their own narrative on that one.

They have been caught lying again and again. From how they first met, to how Harry proposed, to how they were secretly married before the wedding etc.

Meghan claims she had to Google God Save The Queen, and didn't know how to curtsy. She claims she didn't know there would be a hierarchy, or unpaid service, or the countless other things any well-read person would know. Doesn't she realize this highlights her own ignorance and cultural shortcomings. I'm sorry you're a rube, darling, but that no one's fault but your own. Same applies to you, Harry. You married a rube, it's not suddenly the Monarchy's problem that she doesn't know your own national anthem.

Lastly, they gave their marriage within the RF a hot minute before jetting off to Montecito to cry into their Hermès throws. Anyone with half a brain knows it takes time to settle into a marriage, a new family, the in-laws. That she registered her domain, trademark and such within months (if not before) of marrying demonstrates she never had any intention of making things work.

Give it a pass. This is a tedious, self-aggrandizing set of propagandist scenes which are both poorly structured and poorly acted. Megan is like Amber Heard, the fakery just wafts off of her.
